‘GCB’: Come for the Christian-Baiting, Stay for the Bad Sex Jokes
If “Love is Patient” then why does “GCB” feel the need to devote an entire episode solely to sexual self-gratification in marriage?
On March 18, the “Good Christian” show spent 40 minutes focusing on the sexual frustrations of married couples and touting remedies such as “googling the Holy Spirit and horny” and heading to the Bible bookstore to buy “guides to spicy Scripture,” and no that last one is not referring to a cookbook.
“GCB’s” trend of maliciously using Christian terms takes a wild turn when Carlene Cockburn’s husband can’t get his “steeple to stand up straight.” The two must resort to religious role-play as Heaven’s first “original sinners” Adam and Eve to amp up their pillow play, the most juvenile twist on religious imagery yet.
The adolescent sex talk was accompanied by the show’s usual instances of attacking Christianity while pushing adultery and a gay subplot.
In just three episodes, the anything-but-Christian show has chalked up more than 100 anti-Christian remarks, gags and plot twists, in a calculated attempt to offend believers. Now, with an episode full of moronic sex jokes, they seem want to alienate everyone but teenage boys.
A recap of the first three episodes of "GCB's" worst moments can be viewed here.

The show is offensive in every way. What! No riots in the streets! No heads rolling? Of course not Christians turn the other cheek, not pick up a gun.
"gun" ???

... you mean a machete. Or maybe a stick of dynamite. Guns are too high-tech. Besides, the results aren't gruesome enough for the 7th century cave-dwellers to enjoy.

Try releasing a show called HMB.

These people are gutless, unless they come out with a show about HOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK-med, the Horny Muslim Bastard.
It would have to be about mostly men, of course, since women rank well behind the camels, goats, and sheep in the Islamic world.
You can start with an episode about why the HMB wears robes instead of pants with zippers.
It would be so easy that I could write the scripts!
Come on Hollywood, show us what you've got! Let's see you poke a little good natured humor at the Mooooooooooooooooooslem's.

I guess if there's a market for the show, air it. The USA is not a Theocracy.
(And I agree with the argument that we like to make fun of what we're familiar with, and this country has Christians, not Muslims, thus a show poking fun at Christianity... yeah yeah yeah... balboa, we get that!)
But what bothers me is the same people that call Christians "intolerant" would *never* produce a show like this about Islam (and you kidding me... really, someone couldn't come up with some good material on that? --- well, I guess killing daughters because they're too Westernized isn't really funny, though), because they would then see *true* intolerance in action, and they know it, and they're scared.

As with all "reality shows"

These are actresses and actors reading from scripts. The show has nothing to do with reality and even less to do with Christians.
If people would just not watch it (there are probably 12 that are) and make it known that they are not watching it, it will soon be cancelled.
By the way, what channel does it appear on? I want to remove it from my channel list so my family doesn't stumble upon it by accident before it is cancelled.

censorship. I do believe in free markets. I judge TV shows by their trailers. Most of what i see is just plain trash and drivel. Most of the meanness is directed to conservatives and Christians. I'm OK with that. But i have to agree with the above: Show some cajones and say something detrimental about Islam. Then watch for blood in the streets and a nasty note from the White House.
And on another note, the reason i was a fan of the "In Living Color" show back in the 90s was the fact they hit everybody. I can appreciate that. Nobody was on a safe list. But it was done all in humor and not spite. We've seemed to lost that in TV today. In all things, be fair.
Honestly though, I dont expect this show to be around very long.

I can barely stand to read about the show, never mind try to watch it.
It is vile and disgusting and sacreligious.
It's an abomination.

If the writing on this show is as good as that Busom Buddies knockoff that aired all of two episodes earlier this season, then GCB will go away sooner than later. And that show took stinking to whole new levels.

They won't have to spend any money promoting the show if you keep talking about it. You know everyone loves to watch what some deem as naughty or distasteful. Remember Three's Company in the 70's and Married with Children in the 80's. As soon as you put a spotlight on it, it blows up HUGE!
Yeah, All-American Muslim blowed up huge.

Speech is to be countered with other speech. What the real shame is, that there is even a market for this stuff in the first place. What does that say about us?
No, I want to see TV and radio get just as nasty and sleazy as possible. Then maybe people will get fed up and turn their attention to other things and the trash will die on the vine. I am no longer outraged nor surprised by what liberals do. And that includes Hollywood.

Ya gotta hand it to the writers. It's risky writing about subject matter you are completely ignorant of. Do they even know what a crucifix looks like?
