Media Mash: Attempts to Smear GOP as 'Bloodthirsty' and Newsweek Editor's Admission Obama 'Wasn't Ready'
In the weekly take-down of the liberal media on Fox News Channel's "Hannity" on Thursday, NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center President Brent Bozell condemned efforts to "demonize the Tea Party, to marginalize the Tea Party, to suggest that the Tea Party's extremist" simply because GOP debate audiences voiced support for the death penalty. [Audio available here]
Following a clip of CNN's Jack Cafferty asking viewers to tell him whether or not Republican primary voters were "bloodthirsty," Bozell pointed out, "...the vast majority of Americans support the death penalty for convicted murderers and terrorists. That's the reality....Only CNN finds something radically strange about somebody expressing this support."

Bozell also noted a glaring double standard: "Four years ago, Hillary Clinton made a statement in a speech that she gave, where she said the U.S. military had done its job. Her audience booed her for it....There wasn't a single media story on that."

In a interesting example of someone in the liberal media actually stumbling upon the truth, a clip was featured on Newsweek editor Tina Brown confessing that Barack Obama "wasn't ready" to be president.
Bozell called for a correction to the liberal magazine's past adulation for Obama: "'Newsweek,' under a different editor, that in 2008 ran 12 – count them – 12 covers on the second coming of lord Obama. 'Time' magazine ran 14 covers on him in 2008. Sean, I want one cover from one of those magazines with the word 'Oops' on it. That's all."

Only CNN

I am afraid that Bozell is incorrect in saying that "only CNN finds something radically strange about somebody expressing this support." Give it enough time and MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, SEIU and all in the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus will be agreeing with CNN.
It's not "only CNN"

who thinks that way. This morning on Kilmeade & Friends, Geraldo (the world's worst registered Republican) was making derogatory comments about the debate crowds cheering for the death penalty and the TEA party letting people die who don't have insurance and "inflicting pain at will".
Since he is reported to be intelligent I can only assume he is unwilling to acknowledge that the cheering is for the carrying out of the sentence instead of keeping convicted criminals on death row for 35 years. The TEA party is not for letting people die, but rather that private charities help them rather than the government forcing the rest of us to, in spite of what Valerie Jarrett thinks.
Is that all they have...?

The media is trying to shame us into voting for Obama again....?
They got nothing.

Death Penalty. I believe that the spontaneous applause was directed as a show of "in your face," to Brian Williams, for asking the question in the first place. The audience knows that he (nor the rest of the MSM clowns) would not pose such a question to a Democrat governor/candidate.
To the best of my knowledge, every sitting President we've had, has supported the death penalty - including Obama.
And, of course, Brent is correct, a strong majority of Americans also support it.

without the bothersome issues raised by trials, appeals, and all that stuff. He just tells the CIA to "take the guy out".
Don't think I don't support the death penalty. I do.
But to me, Anwar al-Awlaki commited suicide by cop. He became a valid target the minute he declared war on America. He had to know he'd get dead sooner then he expected. Those who commit suicide by cop rarely make it to trial.

Ask them this:
So, if I support the appropriate punishment of convicted vicious and merciless murderers I'm "bloodthirsty?" So the fact that you support the killing of completely innocent unborn children for convenience makes you...?
Cue the tap dancing music.

I happen to listen to Obama announce the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki today and heard the applause from the blood thirsty democrats in the audience. For shame.
Something Strange Going On

It strikes me as passing strange that we do not have the names and faces of those in the Republican debate audiences who supposedly perpetrated these outrageous acts.
Shouldn't we have proof positive of their political affiliations before smearing an entire segment of the populace with imaginary crimes?
I mean, everyone knows that opposition party operatives could be planted at any public event.

In rebuttal, those in favor of the death penalty should counter with an expression of concern for the recidivism rate. That would be more reason for losing sleep.

It is clear to me that the report on the Florida debate where the reporter said the winner in actuality was... nobody! Sounds like racism to me.

Like most Demoncraps you can be sure the degenerate fascist is in favor of the death penalty for anyone who disagrees with him.
