NBC's Guthrie: I 'Hope' Democrats Are 'Furiously Taking Notes' on Gingrich, Perry Slams on Romney

After suggesting that Republicans had done a better job of "enunciating" an anti-capitalist attack on Mitt Romney than "the Democrats have to date," NBC correspondent told fellow panelists on the January 11 Daily Rundown, "I hope the Democrats are furiously taking notes if this is the line of attack they plan to pursue against Mitt Romney."

Perhaps trying to evince a sense of fairness or balance, Guthrie then added (MP3 audio available here; video posted below page break):

On the flip side, it gives Mitt Romney an opportunity to refine his response to it in these early days when, let's face it, independent, persuadable voters aren't paying as much attention as, say, the people around this table are.

Even so, we have an ostensibly objective journalist saying that she "hope[s]" that Democrats figure out how to sharpen their attack lines to sink Romney into the general election -- assuming he wins the GOP nomination, of course.

Agreed

And why would the Democrats have to take any notes anyway? They're very skilled at negative ads, as evidenced by the quick turnaround by the DNC, taking Romney's "firing" quote out of context and building an ad for the web.

We already new the gameplan before Gingrich or Perry said anything. The DNC intends to paint Romney as the jobs-killing, Wall Street top-1%er who's out of touch with working Americans.

They may very well make it work for them. And when Romney claims he'll repeal Obamacare, they'll point to Romneycare as the model for O-care.

Romney may win the nomination, and if he beats Obama, it's likely to be close unless the economy dips downward again.

Why should the Dims go to all

Submitted by Scuba Dude on Wed, 01/11/2012 - 11:53am.

Why should the Dims go to all that work? The libturds in the LSM will be more than happy to transcribe, copy, sort, index and collate everything Odumbo needs.

We no longer have an objective, neutral media.  They have all willingly thrown off that yoke and are ecstatic to put on the knee pads for the DNC and President Downgrade.

You wanna know how bad it's about to get?

Coming next: Obama’s anti-Romney tax  | By James Pethokoukis | January 10, 2012, 2:46 pm

This is why the media has been clamoring for Romney; they already know what's in store for him because the Obama campaign has already run it by them. Anyone who thinks there hasn't been cooperating reciprocal lines of communication established between Axelrod/Plouffe and the network and print media with coordinated attack plans has their head buried.

Complete nonsense!

Submitted by cbeyer on Wed, 01/11/2012 - 12:46pm.

Every poll taken with head to head matchups shows Romney is by far the strongest republican candidate too take on Obama. What is distressing is the absolute shamless attacks on capitalism coming from Gingrich and now Perry. They are now promoting class warfare and trashing capitalism.

There is no way the MSM likes Romney because he is the weakest candidate. The pathetic liberal biased MSM has sheer contempt for anything Republican or conservative. That fact has especially evident in the ABC, NBC, CNN run debates where all the candidates have been attacked. Last Saturday night, George Stephie was all over Romney and attacked him over phony issues...hardly a example of the MSM trying to get Romney elected.

That said, the shameless attacks on Capitalism by Gingrich have exposed him as a true progressive.....a fact pointed out by none other than Rush.....who hardly favors Romney....

Mitt Romney & The L Word(s) Liberal, Liar and Liquidator.

Submitted by laree on Wed, 01/11/2012 - 1:07pm.

Hey remember when McCain beat Romney is New Hampshire? Good Times! Good Times.

Mitt Romney & The L Word(s) Liberal, Liar and Liquidator.

Senator John McCain just endorsed Mitt Romney, here is a video of John McCain going through Mitt Romney’s Liberal Laundry List.

Meanwhile Newt Gingrich is going to release an attack ad against Mitt Romney titled “The King of Bain”. I decided to look up the dictionary definition of the closest spelling to Bain. Bane definition, a person or thing that causes misery or distress ( esp a bane in of one’s Life).
