Associated Press Buries Corzine Party Affiliation in Next-to-Last Paragraph of Story
Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (D) will testify to a House panel today regarding the MF Global scandal that he "simply do[es] not know where the money is, or why the accounts have not been reconciled to date," reports Associated Press's Marcy Gordon.
Gordon eventually got around to mentioning Corzine's party affiliation, in paragraph 11 out of her 12-paragraph story:
A Democrat, Corzine represented New Jersey in the Senate from 2001 through 2005. He later served as the state's governor. Before entering politics, he was CEO of Goldman Sachs from 1994 to 1999.
Several class-action lawsuits on behalf of shareholders have been filed against Corzine and three other top executives. A bankruptcy court is consolidating the suits. They accuse the firm and its leaders of making false statements about MF Global's strength and cash balances.

So, if you're scoring at home

So, if you're scoring at home -- and even if you're not -- that's one guy sent to jail for 14 years and another hauled before the House in the span of 24 hours. That they would risk their own personal freedom by breaking numerous laws and making stupid decisions for their constituents and clients is the very definition of compassion. I salute you, men of uncertain party affiliation.
Corzine to testify

before the House Agricultural Committee today, though from all appearances, he doesn't plan to reveal much. There is word he'll invoke the 5th for most -if not all- of the questions he's asked.
I guess by saying that he

I guess by saying that he 'simply doesn't know where the money went' is a good enough excuse............and then he can take the 5th for the rest of the testimony. Didn't the Solyndra lawyers use the 5th to get through their court appearance??? Didn't the REGIME refuse to give up any pertinant information about Solyndra - which was financed by (supposedly) 'our' dollars???
I thought the sewer got drained allready..................seems like they forgot to pull the plug on the cesspool that was under it.
On Jon Corzine - "He's above the law"

For NB readers - here's a darn good read on Jon Corzine.
Jon Corzine is above the law Washington Times Column by Eric Golub
In the fnal analysis, Golub offers up:
It is one thing to be a liberal Democrat. It is another thing to be tied to Goldman Sachs.
Yet to be both of these things means one is connected on high.
Jon Corzine could commit every atrocity short of what Jerry Sandusky did (and maybe even that) and still not be held accountable.
Jon Corzine is above the law.
He will skate. Justice will never be done.
Once memories fade, he will most likely be given one of the only two fates worthy of his caliber.
Either he will head up a global corrupt bureaucracy like the International Monetary Fund or the United Nations, or he will be given the one job where standards never need apply and corruption is encouraged and expected. He can be the next Democratic Party presidential nominee.

I see that Corzine is now

I see that Corzine is now 'pulling a Barry' and is blaming his predecessors for all of the financial problems at MF Global. Well, that works for Barry, so what the hell................
And now Eric Hold'Um is 'pulling a Clinton' by arguing about the definition of 'lying'............you can't make this stuff up!!!
