Time's Klein: 'Hilarious' to Say 'Centrist' Obama Employing Class Warfare

By Ken Shepherd | October 31, 2011 | 11:01

Someone please tell Joe Klein that it's Halloween, not April Fools' Day.

The Time columnist held forth on the magazine's Swampland blog on Friday that it's "hilarious" of Republican critics to slam President Obama for deploying class warfare. After all, on economic policy, the president is "as centrist if you can get."

In fact, Klein huffed, President Obama may be as conservative as Ronald Reagan:

[I]n fact, Obama stands to the right of Ronald Reagan on issues like entitlement reform: no other President of either party has proposed raising the retirement age for Medicare.

You mean the same president who refused to run with the recommendations of his own bipartisan deficit reduction commission, Joe?

"What Obama is supporting are not policies that divide America, especially on the major economic issues, but a sane, moderate program of action that a significant majority of Americans favor," Klein insisted, concluding that "To ask the President not to support those policies, as forcefully as he can, defies not only reason and best politicial [sic] practices, but also the best interests of this country."

He is a centrist

Obama is a centrist. He stands in between Mao and Stalin in his fiscal policies. After all, both of them ran their countries into extreme debt too.

Unless you're a fetus. The US Supreme Court

Center of everything

Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 10/31/2011 - 11:20am.

I first saw this and thought "well, it goes to show, he wants to be the center of attention, of everything he does.  He's also the center of every problem that he's had his sticky fingers on too."

But a centrist?  Sure, and I'm a liberal.

Obama was a "centrist" even when he had the most liberal rating of 100 senators; why should anything be different now?
Doesn't everyone know demonizing the wealthy and calling for the redistribution of wealth is a "centrist" stand?

All but the dullest of dullards (read: liberals) and the willfully ignorant (read: liberals) have pretty much figured out the very cozy relationship between the faker Obama and Wall Street. He gets more donations from Wall Street than all the Repub candidates combined.

They have also figured out that the real problems are in Washington DC and not in Wall Street.

Unfortunately many (read: Obama voters) will never figure it out.

We know this regarding Time's "reporting": the truth is exactly the opposite of what they state. On every subject. Period.

Hilarious

Submitted by John21 on Mon, 10/31/2011 - 2:20pm.

Hilarious thatanyone with a brain would consider the Obama administration as Centrist.
What planet does he live on?
What drugs is he on?
Does he have any intelligent people around him?
Does he have a keeper to wipe the drool?

Then again it is Time, they haven't been a news organization in decades.
