Time's Feifei Sun Scours Photos to Tally Worth of Mrs. Gingrich's Bling
Time magazine's Feifei Sun took the media obsession with Newt Gingrich's half-million dollar credit line at Tiffany & Co. and cranked it up to 11.
In a May 24 NewsFeed blog post, Sun accounted for $87,500 of the expenditures by scouring photos of Callista Gingrich and tabulating the value of her bling.
Is this really necessary? Callista Gingrich isn't running for president, Newt is.
Anything in his financial records is fair game for scrutiny, as it should be for presidential candidates.
But a candidate's wife's jewelry? Really?
To be fair, from time to time the media have critiqued Michelle Obama's expensive tastes, such as her $540 pair of sneakers, but it's not exactly something with which the media have been transfixed for a sustained period of time.

Didn't someone in the media do this for another Republican wife at some point? I think it was Mrs. McCain, but I'm not sure.
Seems like they tallied up what she was wearing at the convention, I believe it was.
Jealous hags, the lot of them.
And of course, they either downplay the transition of Mrs. Obama from J. Crew to internationally famous designers, or simply treat it as if it's only fitting for her.

MO could spend that much on one outfit, and she'd still have the Fashion Police called on her. The Duchess of Cambridge outdid her in an off-the rack little $250 dollar dress, while MO wore the Queen's upholstery, at a price tag x10.

Vanity Fair does point out that they only cost that much if they're real. Right! Because there's a sliver of a chance that Cindy McCain showed up on TV wearing "a really good fake" anything besides her boobs.
The magazine did not speculate on how much the total cost would increase if we included the pre-convention Botox touch up and hair highlighting.

Typical liberal envy, know as penis envy to some of us. Who's business is other than Newt's as to how much he spends. If he has it, oh yeah he is a capitalist, not an inheritor, Kennedy, Rockefeller, or a marryier, John Kerry to gain wealth, he built it with his brain.
