ABCNews.com Laments Planned Parenthood Defunding Motion Passed Despite Speech by Pro-Choice Congresswoman
Earlier this afternoon, the House of Representatives voted for an amendment to a spending bill that would strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding.
Much of the debate on the measure happened last night, including a speech in opposition of the move by a Democratic congresswoman, Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), who recalled her own abortion procedure.
After the vote came down today, ABCNews.com's Matthew Jaffe and John Parkinson posted an article that was skewed in favor of supporters of Planned Parenthood, featuring a video of Speier's nearly 3-minute-long speech and quoting heavily from that speech.
"Amendment Passes Despite Stunning Personal Testimony From Rep. Jackie Speier," lamented the subheadline to the story. [see screen capture after page break]

Although Jaffe and Parkinson also quoted a tiny bit of the speech by pro-life Rep. Chris Smith's (R-N.J.) that aroused Speier's anger, the ABCNews.com staffers failed to include any video of that speech or indeed any speech by a proponent of ending Planned Parenthood's federal funding.
Jaffe and Parkinson closed the article with the reaction to the 240-185 vote by a Planned Parenthood official:
After Friday's vote, Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, released a statement calling Repblican lawmakers "out of control" and "extreme".
"The new anti-choice House leadership promised a jobs agenda and is now waging a war on contraception," Keenan said. "This is why elections matter. In the past, we had the votes to beat attacks like this amendment, but a new wave of anti-choice politicians is voting to take away women's access to birth control. These lawmakers are out of control, and we hold them accountable for their actions. As the debate goes to the Senate, our members will tell senators that they must put a stop to this extreme anti-choice agenda."

abc nuuzzzzz has my permission to dedicate 100% of ther earnings to support whatever abortion clinic they most approve of.
As long as they make public that they are doing so.
That way the consumers and the advertisers would be better informed in where to spend their time and money.
End 'gun violence in America' - Require training and MANDATORY "Shall Carry" by every Citizen.

That's a good thing.
I bet the Mengele crowd will be spinning on their eyebrows and spitting nails when they hear about this.
That will be a good thing, too.
Arresting and prosecuting Planned Parenthood employees who winked at pregnant, underaged girls.
That would even be better.

NARAL's spokesperson is lying. There is no "war" on contraception. By definition abortion is not contraception. It is telling that Keenan would use these word. That is really sad. And, this isn't anti-choice. This House didn't pass a law that prohibits abortion at all. They did pass a law that will prohibit the American public from having to pay via their tax dollars for a woman to use abortion as if it was contraception. Yes, Keenan, elections do matter and we are holding our representatives accountable including the 23 dimocrat Senators up for relection in 2012 . . . By the way, this largesses to Planned Parenthood is just one more symptom of a larger problem and that is spending. In a sane world, programs like this would never be funded, period. It has to stop. We cannot afford to pay for this and more than 1.7 trillion dollars of other spending this year. Before other nations decide what we can and cannot afford we better continue to elect those that can cut spending to what we can afford to pay for. It's good!

And let's all thank the Congresswoman for admitting what we already know.
Planned Parenthood, in violation of the Hyde Amendment, continues to pay for abortions.
You will notice Congresswoman Speier euphemistically referred to the abortion as a "procedure".

Two interesting comments over at ABC, one from a woman saying PP gave her charge and freedom of her sexual health, whatever the hell that means. And a good one telling the libtards, "Hey, nobody's stopping you from chopping your accidents into little pieces, just that not everbody's is going to pay for it."
Rep. Spier is apparently puzzled why this is an issue with the unemployment and debt facing the Nation. Here's a hint Ms. Spier, millions of dollars to PP adds to our debt. Understand? All this money we spend on things like this, why not cut checks for every American, IMO, it would be better spent.

Ms Keenan, there is a BIG, HONKIN' difference between taking away 'access' to birth control, or outlawing abortion and taking away federal funding for same.
It's just like how they say an insurance company denies someone a treatment or medicine if they won't pay for it.
Hey, ladies; you want an abortion? Pay for it yourself, or get the baby-daddy to foot the bill.
In 2008, Planned Parenthood had profits of $115 million. Please explain, Ms. Keenan, how Planned Parenthood will have to go out of business without federal funding.
Nice shooting, mb

Speier can't distinguish miscarriage from elective abortion
Submitted by Pharmer on Sat, 02/19/2011 - 12:20am.
Speier told a garbled story about her baby moving from THE VAGINA to THE CERVIX at 17 weeks development, and likened her subsequent loss it to the abortions being discussed in the House debate.
This tale obviously does not correctly describe Speier's medical problem, (note the incorrect anatomical references), and she undoubtedly did not have the condition addressed by planned parenthoood.
This same event was described as a second trimester miscarriage in a biographical article about her in SF-GATE, written in 2003.

I know at least 25 women who have had an abortion. NOT one of them fondly recalls their decision. NOT one of them do not suffer daily mentally from that decision. Many continue to have other health issues from the procedure. If they want this procedure, of course, they should pay for it. Don't hold the rest of us responsible for your decisions in life.
