On BBC, Richard Dreyfuss Laments America's 'Delusionary Despair' Since JFK's Death
In a recent interview with Matt Frei for BBC Radio 4's January 30 "Americana" program, liberal actor Richard Dreyfuss complained that America has been downcast with a "delusionary despair" since the day his hero President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
"I don't think we'll ever grow up until we face the anguish and face the loss of what we felt that day," Dreyfuss lamented.

Dreyfuss hasn't grown up yet? Perhaps that explains why he said he tapped his inner Hitler to portray Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone's "W" or why he defended liberal talker Ed Schultz's Cheney death wish as "beautifully phrased" civil discourse.
In the same podcast, "Americana" host Matt Frei gave a platform to Ron Reagan to discuss his new book about his father the late President Ronald Reagan. During the interview the liberal Reagan progeny reiterated the claim in his new book that it was "likely" that Reagan had Alzheimer's while in office but that to his knowledge the 40th president exhibited no symtoms of dementia and at any rate he was "not qualified" to render a diagnosis.
The liberal radio host and frequent MSNBC guest was more comfortable, however, sizing up what his father would think of today's Republican Party.
RON REAGAN: I don't speak for my father on political matters, but, I think I'm comfortable saying that the atmosphere of vitriol we see now -- much of it directed at the White House, much of it coming from the right, one has to admit -- would disturb him, and he would think that it was beneath our nation, I think to engage in that sort of stuff.

JFK is still dead -- GET OVER IT!

The Kennedy-Camelot schtick is an American creation myth that defies historical fact. Dreyfuss and the rest of the clowns refuse to face the facts.

My first reaction was "What happened to the [expletive deleted] cartoons?", but I was 9 at the time. How old is Dreyfuss that it colored his world so completed?

than he has to his father's legacy. He has no right to talk about what his father would have thought after he infers his father's illness was taking hold during his Presidency.
I am sure there are millions of people that would have been proud to call Ronald Regan their father, but how many would be proud to call Ron Reagan their son?
He has no credibility whatsoever. This is his last blast at fame, and in the days after Reagan's 100th birthday, he and his book will be forgotten as they should be.
Question for Richard Dreyfuss, are the people that were born after JFk's assassination also still grieving?
Dick may choose not to grow up, but others have.

Typical among many boomers - they think that they speak for everyone and know what is in everyone's heart. (Right alongside knowing that everyone wants government to take money from generations not yet born to fund their retirements now)
It appears to me that the circle of hard core leftists grows smaller by the day.
Have you ever noticed that

Have you ever noticed that those that spout off with this line of BS always have a nice little nest-egg to support a very comfortable lifestyle while they preach about the need for others to make sacrifices? I applaud those who take the money they make and quietly put it to work to help those less fortunate. I even understand those who might cite what they have done in an effort to get others of equal means to match contributions. But when it is all said and done, if you start with $100 million bucks and give away half of it, you're still left with $50 million. When you start with $100,000 and give away half, you've got $50,000. It's easy to see who gave more, but who made the greater sacrifice? We get all these Hollywood types preaching to us from the comfort of their hilltop mansions about what needs to be done and how things should be done, but most of them should really shut up and act - sing - direct - produce, whatever.

President Kennedy was killed in 1963. Given that the “age-of reason” begins in about the 7th year of life…. a person would have to be born before November of 1956 to appreciate the “trauma” of Kennedy’s death.
Now here’s where it gets ugly: A person born in 1963 is now 48 years old – A person born in the year you made your first major movie (American Graffiti - 1973) is now 38 years old and may have never seen it – Anyone born after 1973 probably doesn’t know who you are and could care less about your opinion. The rest of us know who you are and still don’t care about your opinion.
P.S. I refused to see “Piranha 3D”… because you were in it!

Was Kennedy's assassination a horrendous moment in our country's history? Yes. But it was almost 50 years ago!!
And I have a newsflash for ya, Richard...Americans, with the exception of bleeding heart libnut Kennedy lovers like yourself, manage to carry on with their lives happily and without constant angst over what happened 48 years ago. Get some therapy.
Richard Dreyfuss...Great actor...Political moron.

Seeing what a complete and total horse's a$$ you've become. My guess is Reagan would be tempted to disown your pathetic, lying butt.
It must be a true freak of nature that this pos, along with his equally useless sister Patti, are actually President Reagan's biological children. Amazing.

Have you noticed that has-been actors get up on their hind legs and say something stupidly liberal and then suddenly get another gig? Dufus must be doing his penance to the liberal hollyweird deities. No intelligence life here, move along.
The sad tragic facts are that JFK would be an outcast in his own party, the dimocrats, if he were alive today. The party has gone so far to the left that it would be unrecognizable to him.
I am suprised that Dufus brought this up. As popular as JFK still is today, you will rarely see any parallels between JFK and liberal leaders of today.
Laughingly liberals have made failed attempts to align their leaders, including duhbama, with President Reagan, a president they vilified at every turn when he was POTUS.
