"I will say that when I started [at MSNBC] in 2003, nobody spoke to me for six months. I was a strange man in a strange land," Joe Scarborough is reported to have told Time magazine.
TVNewser's Steve Krakauer noted today that in an upcoming 10 Questions feature the "Morning Joe" host will share his thoughts about his network, which he sees, "right now" to be "a free marketplace of ideas where everybody's invited and opinions clash."
Scarborough added that "as long as I'm fair, I don't think there's a problem at all." There's no word, however, on if Scarborough thinks fairness is strived at by his colleagues Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann.

Either good ol' Scarborough
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 13:30 ET by bigtimerEither good ol' Scarborough is delusional or I am... when he makes remarks like this... "while Fox was always underestimated in the past, but if you look at the road map for the last 8 yrs. for who is going to succeed, it looks like msnbc has a pretty good chance." I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the drift.
Give me a break Joe!

And Scarborough isn't fair
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 13:32 ET by Dee BunkHe has more liberals on all the time. There is rarely a strong conservatives on his show
Personnel is policy
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 13:41 ET by KC MulvilleI have no doubt that Scarborough feels free to say anything he wants. That gives him the warrant to claim that his network is "open."
But when your shows are filled with people who only want to give one political perspective, not because they're forced to, but because they're liberal to the core - that gets the same result through different means. That's the difference. MSNBC may never impose any restrictions on what is said, but they control who says it. That's where the bias is. Personnel is policy.
Exactly Dee and KC...this
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 13:52 ET by bigtimerExactly Dee and KC...this is the very reason I cannot watch it anymore like I used to...even though his show previously is usually filled with mostly libs...I just cannot take it.
Barnicle is a regular now, I can't think of the other guys name that is from CNBC, not Harwood, some other guy who supposedly knows all about Wall Street..anyway, plenty of other libs are always there..it is impossible to watch the show...and he seems to think somehow msnbc may beat Fox with the ratings...
Give me a break.

BT - I could only handle Scarborough for a couple weeks
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:02 ET by Dee BunkI know Mark and Blonde said they enjoyed the show, but I just got too aggravated. Even Peggy Noonan has now become a Republican critic on the show. I'm done with Noonan & Scarborough
Dee... I absolutely
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:12 ET by bigtimerDee...
I absolutely cannot stand watching Noonan anymore...her annoying arrogance is too much to take for me...she really thinks she's something, she has been on abc's Sunday show with Georgie lately on the round table...she now has sold her soul completely as far as I am concerned to get face-time on television, let alone still be included with the DC in crowd...along with Sally 'Queen Bee' Quinn's social parties and such.

I feel the same way BT - I always liked her writing better
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:15 ET by Dee Bunkthan her speaking, even when she acted like a real conservative. Now I don't care to watch or read her.
BT & Dee… It occurs to
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:20 ET by maggieqpublicBT & Dee… It occurs to me that Joe may LIKE being the only one on the show who is likely to express a conservative opinion.
And Peggy Noonan.... I was hoping Obama would sequester her in some obscure speechwriters office at the White House. Meow.
Hi maggieq... Meow
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:25 ET by bigtimerHi maggieq...
Meow indeed..that was a good one...I'm still chuckling...
As to Joe liking being the sole moderate on the show the majority of the time, I really don't think he has much of a choice...I could be wrong though, that's for sure...they do stick Buchanan in there now and then...for whatever that's worth.

I think what happened to Noonan is that she was bitten by a Libpire. That's a Liberal who, not unlike a Vampire, infects people and takes over their souls. The infection can be a bite to the neck but is more likely a hypnotic suggestion made under various circumstances such as - under the influence of drugs or alcohol, forced to listen to Lib or Left indoctrination as in a school classroom, or injected through a sexual encounter. Or it could be a combination of two or more or all of the previous methods.
My guess is that Noonan got drunk, went to her night class where her instructor got her drugged, and then they had sex on the instructor's desk. She is now more dangerous than a cluster bomb.
Dok Frank... I am

I am laughing so hard you wouldn't believe it...
Sounds as good as any plausible explanation I have heard!
Just wanted to say thanks for the laughter this evening.

Your welcome! :-) And yes,
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 14:53 ET by SeashellYour welcome! :-) And yes, he drives me crazy too. I watch the show off and on just about everyday. It's a love/hate relationship for me. All the "usuals" are lefties (w/ exception of Buchanan), but they do have on "guests" that are conservatives at times. They had on Mark Sanford (my gov.) today whom I really like.
Hey Ss... Yeah I know
Thu, 12/11/2008 - 21:25 ET by bigtimerHey Ss...
Yeah I know they have some guests on that are people I like too...I just can't watch that long anymore these days...
Maybe with time I will be able to click back and forth and try to catch it...but not any time soon for me.
