The winner of the MRC's 2008 Dan Rather Memorial Award for Stupidest Analysis went to the editors of McClatchy Newspapers for an October 16 headline that spun the good news of the surge's success in Iraq into a tale of woe for Iraqi gravediggers. See, with the success of the surge and the corresponding drop in violence and death, Iraqi cemetery workers were "feel[ing] the pinch" to quote the headline.

We blogged about this at the time at NewsBusters here. You can find the article still archived at McClatchy here.

A Clear Winner!

I had that one posted on my bulletin board even before NB found it.

It seems to me that

It seems to me that McClatchy is just another division of Reuters News Service. I see no difference between the two. Both un/anti-American, both report lies, innuendoes and half-truths. They've got to be connected.

Yep, McClatchey and Toma

Yep, McClatchey and Toma (sp) I think that is the correct spelling, Tom Brokaw and the free use of the msm via Brokaw and msnbc via McClatchy all hurt Montana with the Burns race badly in the last election....it made me furious.

I have nothing but disdain for McClatchy, they have been buying up papers here in Mt. for quite a long time now...and the piece of work Toma makes me ill every-time I see his face, let alone what comes out of his mouth.
