Newsweek.com Photo Bias: Raul Castro vs. John McCain

Below the page break I've included screen grabs taken around 3:50 p.m. today for top stories at Newsweek.com, one having to do with John McCain and how his denial of an affair with Vicki Iseman "invited a game of catch me if you can," the second about the rise of a Raul Castro, a dictator who "promises change."

The latter, flashing a peace sign, looks somewhat avuncular. McCain, however appears to bear a scowl on his face in a photo shot apparently aboard a campaign airplane.

You know, if these people

You know, if these people were any good, they wouldn't be this obvious. Only retard liberals can't figure out the bias. Oh, soory, I guess I jst answered my own rant!

Carry on, nothing to see here!

It is discussing how the media

It is discussing how the media shows their hate and disrespect for the
United States. They take all their freedoms for granted and feel they owe the
people nothing, not even a kind or honest word. Neither to us or this country. They feel it
necessary to lie to the people who support them. Lies by fabrication, deceit,
half truths, omission and bias.

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

That's what McCain looks

That's what McCain looks like in every picture (well, except for the one where he was sleeping during the SOTU - there he looked nice and peaceful).

He's a crotchety, bitter old man.  What do you expect?

Furthermore, the peace sign makes sense within the context of the caption of the photo.

This is a bit of a stretch on the Newsbusters part I think.

Leon says

That's what Hillary looks like in every picture (well, except for the one where she was crying crocodile tears during the NH Primary- there she looked nice and peaceful).

She's a crotchety, bitter old woman.  What do you expect?

Furthermore, the cupped hands make sense within the context of Obama's position in the flag photo.

This is a bit of a stretch on Leon's part I think.

This, I agree with you.

This,

I agree with you.  And that's exactly how she looks in every picture.

I'm anti-hillary.  Might want to move along there tiger.

Furthermore, who cares about Cuba?  Really?  Why are we so anti?  They're a non-threat with nothing going for them.  Frankly, I don't see what all the hype's about.

»→ Leon

We're anti Cuba for the same reason you never hear about a parole hearing for Sirhan-Sirhan.

Cool, It's a beautiful

Cool,

It's a beautiful country with great music and great food.

I'd love to go there.  They aren't a threat to America at all, so I just don't understand why all the fuss.

Let's check in with the Beaver

Wally: Hey, dad. Who are you supporting in the democratic primary?

Ward: Well, Wally. Who should I support?

Wally: Golly, I don't know. If I support Obama, then I'm a sexist. If I support Hillary, then I'm a racist.

Beaver: I support the war against terrorists!!!

Wally: Uh oh.

Ward: (Places his hands on his face) Oh, Beaver. Didn't you learn anything from the birthday presents mom and I got you?

Beaver: You mean the extra set of pins for my George Bush doll?

Ward: No, Beave. I mean that children's pop-up book entitled, "A Children's Guide To Islam."

Beaver: You mean the book that when you open it the World Trade Center burning pops up?

Ward: Doesn't that move your soul, Beaver?

Beaver: Because thousands of innocent people died?

Ward: No! No! It shows what some people will do for their peaceful religion.

Wally: Jeepers, dad. Beaver's been listening to Rush Limbaugh and reading Newsbusters!!

Ward: Oh? Well, just march yourself to your room young man and don't come out until you say the magic word.

Beaver: The magic word? ummm . . . Is it 'Sorry?'

Wally: Wow, Beave. Even mom knows the magic word is 'change.'

Ward: And now, Wally, do you support Raul?

Wally: Ah, dad. This is a trick question. If I support Hillary or Barack, how can I not support Raul!

Ward: (Smiles) I think some young man just earned himself a carbon credit!

Wally: Jeepers, dad. Now I can fart at the dinner table! Wait till the guys at school hear about this!

That was rich.  June:

That was rich.

June: Time for dinner boys, be sure and bow towards mecca now.  Oh Ward do you think its ok for the boys to dress in the their traditioanl Muslim gettup.  Wally at least has been good in not wearing a lapel flag and turning his back when they say the pledge.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

McCain can not compete with Castro

Of course Castro gets good coverage, because until the day John McCain dumps tons of cheap cocaine for liberals to snort up their noses, dumps drug money into the very banks which back Newsweek and pays their "bonuses" in skimming operations and arrest the people at Newsbusters, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly..........he just can't compete with those Castro butchers.

Newsweek knows which side their bread is buttered on. McCain only helped casino gambling........there just aren't enough Indians on meth to make a good billion so his work is peanuts compared to the Castros.

Journalism 101

We dealt with the question of 'photo choice' in Media Ethics class (second-year journalism); the reality is that every photojournalist shoots dozens (if not hundreds) of pictures at every event he/she covers. Therefore it stands to reason that editors should be able to find a flattering picture of the subject of the story - if they wanted to.

Any time you see any picture like this, ask yourself, "Why did they chose that photo?" That will tell you volumes about the editor's bias.

I admire FDR for not insisting on getting the approval of France and Germany before going to war.

Picture Choice

Exactly right. They look through dozens, if not hundreds of photos and make a choice. It is never an accident. If there are two pictures of smiling Democrats and one of a frowning Republican, you can be sure that it was done on purpose.

Keep your eye out for Dick Cheney photos on the AP or Reuters. Even though Cheney smiles a lot, even grins a lot, when I see him on video, you will almost never see proof of that in a news photo.

Eddie Haskell: That sure is

Eddie Haskell: That sure is a lovely burka you're wearing today Mrs. Cleaver.
