Despite the media’s anti-Christian attitude, this star’s faith isn’t holding her back.
Country singer Carrie Underwood won the “Top Christian Song” at 2015 Billboard Music Awards with her hit “Something in the Water” on May 17. With more than 12 million YouTube views, the song speaks to the power of baptism and conversion.
The song, released last fall, detailed a change that comes with baptism, or “something in the water.”
Then somebody said what I'm saying to you
Opened my eyes and told me the truth
They said, ‘Just a little faith, it'll all get better.’
So I followed that preacher man down to the riverAnd now I'm changed.
And now I'm stronger.
Later in the lyrics, Underwood described a conversion that led to “trust in someone bigger than me.”

Saying, "God, if you're there come and rescue me."
Felt love pouring down from above
Got washed in the water, washed in the blood
Other contenders for the Billboard award included Francesca Battistelli, Hillsong United, MercyMe and Newsboy.
The Grammy-winning song, also a nominee for the upcoming CMT Music Awards, made No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs list and the Hot Christian Songs chart.
Unabashedly Christian, Underwood revealed her pro-life perspective to comedian Jimmy Fallon last year and made headlines in 2013 after mocking Obamacare at the Country Music Association Awards show.
