The Judicial Confirmation Network Council are not the only ones that are reminding us of Barack Obama's poor judgement of associates with their new ad...Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is reminding everyone too.
Republican vice presidential
candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday accused Democrat Barack Obama of “palling around with terrorists” because of an old association with a
former ’60s radical, stepping up an effort to portray Obama as unacceptable to American voters. [...]
Palin’s reference was to Bill Ayers, one of the founders of the group the Weather Underground. Its members took credit for bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol, during the Vietnam War era. Obama, who was a child when the group was active, served on a charity board with Ayers several years ago and has denounced his radical views and activities.
[...]
The Republican campaign, falling behind Obama in polls, plans to make attacks on Obama’s character a centerpiece of candidate John McCain’s message in the final weeks of the presidential race.
As the last month towards the final election time comes around, how long do you think the McCain camp will allow the media to ignore Obama's friendship with a domestic terrorist to be ignored?

McCain campaign took the gloves off and let Sarah Palin go after Obama and I
like it. If McCain can do it during the debate it would be even better, just go
after Obama and the media will be force to talk about it. Hillary Clinton was
beating Obama up as the campaign ended so McCain should do the same. Any associations
Obama has should be put on the table, lets stop this radical Marxist now before
it is too late.

Obama and Palin Need to Shout It Out in Detail Every Day!
October 5, 2008 - 00:46 ET by TakeaRightIt's good that Sarah is pushing the story into the newspapers again, but they have a lot of work to do. While this AP story reluctantly reports the matter, it clearly shades it as an "attack" and provides cover to Obama by saying that he was "a child when the group was active." Just as with Wright, Rezco, Phleger, et al., there is no serious inquiry as to the depth or purpose of the association.
The AP and the rest of the MSM are not going to do any investigation on their own, so it's all up to McCain/Palin to move this story. So far, it's a good start.

McCain needs to get that picture form 2001 of Ayers desecrating the American Flag (by walking on it), for the article called "without regret", out to the public to see what just how "repentant" Ayers is. If you want to see it go to littlegreenfootballs they have it up.

C'mon, Senator McCain
October 5, 2008 - 04:32 ET by jdhawkC'mon, Senator McCain doesn't have the stones to bring this up in interviews with the press, on the campaign trail or during the remaining two debates. This is a non starter.
My bet is that Governor Palin is bringing this up on her own or at best with the campaign's disapproval. It will go nowhere.
Further, Senator McCain had no fire at the last debate, didn't look at his opponent, and took pains not to bring up the many many controversial issues that surround his opponent.
"Gentlemen" McCain is losing this race and it is his to lose. If he can't forthrightly bring these issues to the American public how is he going to confront America's adversaries?
If Senator McCain wants to win this thing, he must take the gloves off. I just don't think he has it in him.
Meanwhile, this just in: "McCain Eyes Potential Treasury Pick." In the article's last two paragraphs, McCain is quoted as saying this:
Asked if he would be a visible presence in international talks to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions and replace the Kyoto Protocol, McCain,
who has clashed with fellow Republicans over climate change, said he
would do "whatever is necessary to try to move forward."
He said he would involve former Vice President Al Gore in efforts to
address the issue. "I would tap him, I would tap people who have been
involved in these issues for many years." McCain noted that he
disagreed with the Nobel Peace Prize winner about nuclear energy but
added, "I have great respect for Al Gore."
To enlist a bozo like AlBore in a new Republican administration is just bizarre.
How about "Mentorship with a Communist"
October 5, 2008 - 08:25 ET by JaykeI know Obama has a veiled reference in one of his books to a whiskey breathed "Frank" who influenced him greatly in adolescence. There is also speculation that this is none other than Frank Marshall Davis. I think that this is just as damning to Obama as his many other radical associations. He even admits it in one of his books. I can't believe our media is acting like a big communist propaganda machine. What is happening to my country?

Romney/Palin or Giuliani/Palin would have been unstoppable.
Is this significant?
October 5, 2008 - 09:40 ET by pbthinkerThere are some people out there wondering what this is all about. You can say anything you want but, if the liberal media puts it into the context that this was a long time ago and who cares (just like Clinton dodging the draft), it will not be successful.
The reasons this is significant, and it needs to be explained, is because the people in Obama's past, Ayres, Wright, etc. are not the sort of people that support just anyone. If they've chosen Obama it's because his politics, and theirs, are the same. The media has to know this and they're willing to overlook it. The American people have the right to know what kind of candidate they have, running for President. They've overlooked this and the experience factor, to the amazement of most Republicans.

October 5, 2008 - 10:13 ET by sherylsimspbthinker, that is such a good point. Everyone is talking about who Obama is associating with, but you put it in a different light by mentioning who THEY are supporting. That makes it all the more disturbing.
