O’Reilly To Megyn Kelly: ‘The Lowest You Can Go Is To Have Your Hair Mocked By Chris Matthews’

In a bit of light-hearted segment on Thursday’s O’Reilly Factor, FNC’s Megyn Kelly described a recent run-in she had with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

Kelly described her encounter the following way:

When he saw me in the airport, he had no idea who I was. So I said it is Megyn Kelly with Fox News. And then he said, oh I didn't recognize you with your stringy hair.  [See video below.  MP3 audio here.]

O’Reilly jokingly informed Ms. Kelly that, “let me just break this to you.  The lowest you can go is to have your hair mocked by Chris Matthews.”  Kelly also told O’Reilly that upon meeting Matthews, the ultra-liberal MSNBC host informed Kelly that, “I’m going to see Bill and we’re going to inhale helium balloons and have a debate.”  While Matthews’ comments may sound strange, he and O’Reilly did participate in a charity fundraiser together where they engaged in such a debate.

Kelly responded by saying, “I’m like he’s been hitting the sauce or something” to which O’Reilly commented, “He smokes crack usually every day.”

The O’Reilly Factor

October 18, 2012

8:40 p.m. EDT

BILL O’REILLY: Ms. Megyn joins us now. So give me something that i don't know.  You know, you have been to three of these dog and ponies, right now.

MEGYN KELLY: Yeah, yeah.

O’REILLY: Give me something I don't know behind the scenes stuff.

KELLY:  I mean some of the most interesting stuff is the logistics in getting there and who you see on the road. Last week when we were in Danville I was on the same flight as Shepherd Smith and Chris Matthews from that other channel. I saw Mr. Matthews in the airport and we had a conversation about you, actually.  And he was telling me about your crazy thing that you guys did which ended up being a nice thing to help kids with autism. He tells me in the airport, I’m going to see Bill and we’re going to inhale helium balloons and have a debate.  I’m like he’s been hitting the sauce or something.

O’REILLY: He smokes crack usually every day.

KELLY: Let me tell you this.  When he saw me in the airport, he had no idea who I was. So I said it is Megyn Kelly with Fox News. And then he said, oh I didn't recognize you with your stringy hair.

O’REILLY: Oh that was nice.  Like he’s Mitt Romney up there.  Right.  Yeah, ok.

KELLY: This is what I actually look like, I didn’t have my Fox bells and whistles on.

O’REILLY: Kelly, let me just break this to you.  The lowest you can go is to have your hair mocked by Chris Matthews.
