Does Andrea Mitchell Watch Her Own Network? Ignores Santorum's Repudiation of Bigotry
It appears that even Andrea Mitchell doesn’t watch MSNBC. During Tuesday's edition of her eponymous program, while speaking to Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker, the anchor failed to acknowledge former Sen. Rick Santorum’s (R-Pa.) strong repudiation for comments made by an attendee at one of his campaign events over the weekend.
While the presidential hopeful did not initially correct the woman’s allegations that President Obama was a devout Muslim who was illegally occupying the White House, appearing on Morning Joe today, Santorum strongly condemned such rhetoric as being bizarre and out of touch with reality. [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Apparently Andrea didn't get the memo. Mitchell’s ignorance of her own network is just another example of her attempts to paint Republicans as bigots and continues to lower her journalistic credibility.
Below is an exerpt from Andrea Mitchell Reports and the earlier statement from Senator Rick Santorum on Morning Joe.

Andrea Mitchell: Ryan Lizza, there's a lot of ugliness in this campaign as we’ve all been noting, and particularly there was an event, a moment with a woman at a Rick Santorum event in Florida yesterday, who in Lady Lake, Florida, questioned the President's religion and interestingly, unlike John McCain four years ago, candidate Santorum did not push back. I want to play that tape for you.

John Heilmann: Well I think that's certainly possible and I think actually Senator Santorum is going to need to do more than he's done so far to exploit the support of evangelical leaders that came out in favor of him in Texas. But I actually want ask him, Senator Santorum, a question about something that happened yesterday in Florida. You were, you did a town hall meeting down in, at an American Legion hall in Lady Lakes, Senator. And there was a questioner who asked you about, about, who started by with the premise that President Obama is not legally qualified to be President and called him an avowed Muslim. Uh, you didn’t respond to that. You’re taking some criticism for that. I’m wondering whether you wanna speak to that here today.
Rick Santorum: Guys, I've spoken of that repeatedly throughout the course of this campaign. Everybody else has, too. I've said repeatedly that I don't believe President Obama is a Muslim and he's qualified. This was an elderly lady, she was there leaning on a cane, she was quite wobbly and I'm not going to sit and slam an older lady because she has some way-out, you know, some bizarre beliefs. I mean that’s just, you know, it's your responsibility to defend the President, not mine. I've made my position clear on this issue. And, I don't know why you guys are so fixated on making sure Republicans, and every time somebody says something, that the media don't believe it's true and I don’t believe its true, that it's my responsibility. But when the media and others say lies about me and call me names and do things that it’s okay and that in fact it’s promoted and encouraged and made fun of when we do it, stop it. We’re not here, I'm not here to defend the President. And against you know, scurrilous attacks. It's not my job. Any more than you seem it's your job to defend me against scurrilous attacks.

Slamming down of the disabled, elderly women with personal beliefs against the one she (Andrea) has waited so long for! What a hate-monger!
Typical white person.

Rick if believing the Constitution is bizarre than I guess it is you who is out of touch. Under no circumstances will I now consider you a viable presidential nominee.
We can't stand to watch MSNBC . . .

. . . Maybe Andrea Mitchell can't either.
Ah, the ever expanding definition of bigotry.

How exactly is questioning someone's religion bigotry? Sounds to me like the lady was simply calling him a liar, which of course he is.
Nice try though, Mummy.

She is a mean spirited b*t*h and lacks knowledge of the world. She may be cold hearted and stupid beyond understanding but even she is not stupid enough to watch MSDNC.
She may agree with every DNC talking point but knows how stupid they sound when repeated by her comrades at the station.
She knows that the talking points cannot be defended intelligently and she can only provide more propaganda to satisfy her masters and keep her place in the liberal elite.
She maybe so far left that the idea on middle of the road is considered being a Nazi but, knows that she has little to no credibility left and needs to be able to use that presidential excuse "Deniable Plausibility"
I think that in a short period of time and with luck November she will be committed for her "Nervious Breakdown"

Pretty much sums up Andrea “black ink on white paper” Mitchell and MSNBC in general

Hillary Clinton's campaign 2008 started the premise that President Obama is not legally qualified to be President and called him an avowed Muslim.
No surprise here.......

Mrs. Greenspan is a not-too-bright purveyor of democratic talking points that are fed to her prior to her daily "News program" watched by an audience of fifteen. She is the dullest knife in the drawer, for sure!

Mitchell. Quit your judgemental blabbing. You, Brokaw and Rather are long gone has beens and your agendas are of zero interest to anyone who wastes time trying to figure out what any of you are doing, to add interest in the media. You are locked in the 60's while most others want to move on. Conservatives are not racists, in case you are interested, and you keep accusing them of being so. Get new material or better yet, get a new job.
Mitchell and her news

Mitchell and her news producers were likely aware of Santorum's repudiation of the comment. DIdn't matter. They had such a juicy lie about Santorum that it was too good to pass up. Of course they promoted the "President is a devout Muslim" statement.
She's using a tactic she learned at the Vince McMahon School Of Broadcasting. i.e., spread the dirt as widely and as often as possible, and get the rasslers fighting with each other on and off camera.
Why does Andrea Mitchell look down on muslims?
Submitted by DaMav on Tue, 01/24/2012 - 8:35pm.
Judging by their behavior, the media seems to consider being a muslim the worst insult in the book. If someone said that Obama was Prebyterian, or a Methodist, or Apostolic, it is unlikely that the talking heads would be hopping up and down demanding that an opposition candidate stop everything and correct the speaker.
Our candidates need to take advantage of these moments to ask the media bigots why they are so bigoted against muslims.
Does she watch her own network? Why should she?
