Maddow Hates it When (GOP) Politicians Don't Read Bills They Support

By Jack Coleman | May 15, 2012 | 18:00

A  A

Rachel Maddow is perturbed that Republican Sam Brownback, governor of Kansas, said he will probably sign anti-abortion legislation he had not read.

Yes, you certainly have heard something along these lines before. Back in March 2010, two weeks before Obamacare became law, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unloaded a quote that will almost surely grace her obituary, saying of the 2,000-plus page proposed legislation, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it away from the fog of the controversy." (video after page break)

On her MSNBC show last night, Maddow slammed Brownback for a remark that echoed Pelosi's from two years ago --

That bill passed the Kansas House last week, doing all of that. And right now it appears to be stalled in the state senate. But the state's Republican Gov. Sam Brownback has already told reporters, he told reporters way back in February, that even though he had not yet read the bill at that time, he'd probably sign it. Regardless of what's in it? He knew he'd sign it before he read it?!

Not so funny thing is, Maddow interviewed Pelosi only two days after Pelosi made her infamous comment about the alleged need to pass Obamacare before anyone "could find out what is in it." And this was no quickie interview on the run -- it lasted more than half an hour and was broadcast across four segments of the Maddow show on March 11, 2010.

At no point in the extended interview did Maddow ask the donkey-in-the-room question, one that every sentient adult in America was wondering after Pelosi's remark two days earlier -- Uh, just out of curiosity, Madame Speaker, have you read the health reform bill? You know, the one with repercussions that could last decades? That one.

In lieu of this, viewers were treated to another guffaw-worthy remark from Pelosi when she described Maddow, an unabashed left-wing propagandist, as "non-partisan."

Yes, Rachel IS that stupid.

"Probably" is a common word of which Ms. Maddow apparently has no concept.

What is it with these Rhodes scholars? Calling into question words for which there is only one definition?

Yes, she is that stupid. Even more stupid are her viewers who "probably" bought her presentation.

And she's a liar. Just based

Submitted by ant on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 7:05pm.

And she's a liar. Just based on what Maddow herself is quoted as saying, the Bill has not reached the Governor, he said he 'would probably sign it' although he admitted he 'had not read it yet', yet being the operative word here, he did not sign the Bill without reading it, the Bill is not on his desk, he may read it at any time before that signing (unlike Pelosi's guilt in the case of pushing a Bill through that she didn't read OR understand OR have a Constitutional foundation for).....Has Maddow procured the psychic power of knowing the future? Another case of sound and fury...or, in this instance, grating noise and whining signifying nothing...from this moron Maddow.

Or did she have to pass it before she read it?

Her Lithium level must be subtherapeutic again.

I used to worry

Submitted by bobsmom on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 8:18pm.

about creeping senility, late onset dementia, organic brain syndrome, et al in my golden years. After reading the jewels that fall unheeded from lips like hers, I am no longer concerned. Quite obviously, those under 40 are now more liable to suffer from such things than arethose of us who've safely made it into middle age. Whew, dodged that bullet. The crap they utter is just beyond unbelievable.

Brownback is wrong to sign it.....

Submitted by GregE on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 8:58pm.

............if he hasn't read it. Rachel is wrong to even bring it up, seeing as she doesn't give a rats arse if any Dems read Obamacare or Dodd-Frank, or any other crap.

Abortion

I am still baffled that a lesbian like Maddow is so hell bent on demanding abortions, like she is EVER going to have one.
