Nancy Pelosi: GOP Wants to 'Destroy Government,' Asks 'Do Their Children Breathe Air?'
During a Democratic fundraising event in San Francisco late last month, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D- Calif.) declared Republicans are ‘hijacking’ the deficit issue in order to ‘destroy the public space’ and wondered aloud “Do their children breathe air?”
An audience member recorded Pelosi’s address at the August 21, 2011 fundraiser where the California Democrat attacked Republicans on the deficit. “The Republicans right now are using the idea of deficit reduction as an excuse, they’re hijacking an idea that has some resonance, we all want to reduce the deficit, in order to not reduce the deficit but to destroy the public space, destroy government,” Pelosi said.
The House Minority Leader went on to claim that public schools, public safety, clean air, clean water and food safety are among the targets of the GOP.“You name it. Forget about it. They’re defunding every initiative in that regard.”
“You wonder do their children breathe air? Do they drink water? Why do they not care? But they don’t,” Pelosi said.

For some reason the ivory tower of Washington is the only place for government. You have to wonder what state will declare bankruptcy first and dissolve the state or city government and have rules and power come only from Washington, not Sacramento. The illusion of federalism has almost ran it course to the progressives as they have has been slowly creating a central planning government for sometime.

Only in government is reducing an INCREASE equal to defunding. Scary part is, she actually believes what she's saying and she has Constitutional authority to make US laws. Heck, if she and others want to claim defunding, then lets get it on and start defunding things. Then what can she call it? She's already used the term for much milder action.
I wonder if the Founders ever imagined such a boob holding a US House seat, much less Speaker? (and please, libs need not jump in with the fact that she is a woman, and the Founders wouldn't imagine even that much. That's not what I'm referring to)

Yes, the children do breathe air, but we would ALL breathe a little easier if not for the STIFLING CONDITIONS that are before us today with this overblown overgrown government.I'm sick to death of these extremist liberals trying to create a socialist country with their ill-conceived policies. I say ill-conceived because they don't work with the Constitution as it is, which is why they are trying to destroy it.

Nancy Pelosi is a walking cliche. She is a brain-dead idiot liberal without an ounce of brains. Destroy the government? Hardly, Nancy, we just want to limit its restraint to what is allowed by the Constitution. I know that flies right over your head, Nancy, but fiscal restraint and adhering to American jurisprudence is not "destroying the government". By "destroying the government", Nancy is accusing us of trying to prevent her and her cronies from using the auspices of the federal government to screw one group of people on the behalf of another. She's upset that we want equal protection under the law and that we will honor the meritocracy this nation was founded on. That ends her power and reign and reduces her to a blithering bird-brain. Oh wait, she already is that.
