U.S. War Dead in Afghanistan Tripled Under Obama
President Barack Obama has not yet served three full years as commander in chief, but the number of U.S. casualties in the 10-year-old Afghanistan war has now tripled since Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009.
On that day, the total casualty count for the then-7-year-old Afghan war was 569. As of Sept. 30 of this year, it was 1,698. The 1,129 additional U.S. casualties in Afghanistan since Obama took office equals 66.5 percent of all U.S. casualties there for the duration of the war. With three months still to go, 2011 is already the second deadliest year of the war.
From January through September 2011, 340 U.S. service members have been killed in Afghanistan--only 22 fewer than the 362 who were killed during the same span in 2010, which was the deadliest year so far for U.S. forces in Afghanistan.
The top three deadliest years of the war -- 2010 (497 deaths), 2011 (340), 2009 (303) -- have occurred under President Obama’s tenure.
At least 38 U.S. troops died in Afghanistan in September, making last month the second deadliest September of the war, exceeded only by September 2010, when 42 Americans died.
August 2011 was the deadliest month of the conflict, according to CNSNews.com’s tally. Seventy-one U.S. troops died in August, including 30 on a helicopter that was shot down by insurgents on August 6.

US casualty count and "mile stone" death reports as he lead his shows off with under the Bush administration?
Where is John Kerry and his slandering of the troops? Murtha is only silenced by death, and he was a US Marine condemning Marines for a crime they did not commit for political gain.
How's that Nobel Peace Prize working out for obama?
Not to split hairs Edwin, but the US Military dog that died deserves mention. Vietnam Marines considered their dogs as vital warriors of the unit, equal to the Marine warrior. The Afghan forces lost Commandos on board, and their interpreter. Just pointing out that the US is not fighting the war unilaterally, a charge made by the media under the Bush administration to demoralize support for the war(s).
Libya, anyone? Matthews? Code Pink?
You beat me to it!

"Body count" was my first thought.
Nothing stirs up liberal bloodlust like a Democrat president!

No surprise here.....just look at the rules of engagement. It's a wonder that casualties are not even higher.
No surprise that the Goebbels-ized media does not "Keep Track" on a daily basis as they did when Bush was President. After all, the present occupant of the White House bears no responsibility for anything negative. Propaganda, not news is what is fed to all via our media....with a few exceptions. Michael Savage being #1.....and I'm sure plans are afoot to silence him and others. To paraphrase, "Beware the media/government complex."
Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, etc., are no longer reported on in a meaningful way. Amanda Knox, the rent-a-demonstrator group on Wall St., Michael Jackson's doctor, a rock in Texas, Chris Christie's final, final, final, FINAL news conference, now THERE'S important news!
Throwing Israel under the bus, undermining democracy in South America, catering to our enemies, bowing down to the dictates of the U.N., ramping up ACORN in different names, exhorting the union mobs,.....that's the goals.
We live in very dangerous times.
