'Kinky Boots' Cast Wants To ‘Just Pee’ Anywhere

Forget Hamilton. Created by the cast of the musical Kinky Boots, “Just Pee” is the latest masterpiece taking Broadway by storm.

Kinky Boots is the story of how drag queen Lola helped a straight man save his shoe factory by designing high-heeled boots. The music is by ever-flamboyant and vocal LGBT activist Cyndi Lauper, and the book was written by openly gay playwright Harvey Fierstein. But just to make sure there was no doubt about the show’s stance on the bathroom debate, the cast released a music video on Friday of their pro-trans ditty.

The song, “Just Pee,” is a parody of the show’s finale, “Just Be.” The cast of drag queens and factory workers all file in to a single bathroom together, singing “Just pee / Where you want to be / No else should tell you where you ought to be.” The cast croons “go relieve yourself triumphantly.” If that’s an issue, instead of using the wrong bathroom, maybe consider a laxative?

Fierstein said that the video is an attempt to point out the “absurdity” of the bathroom debate. Because a troupe of men clad in glittery high-heeled boots and impressively long fake eyelashes, tossing toilet paper and balloons around a bathroom like a drunken bachelorette party, definitely makes the controversy less absurd.

Media fans say that the video “skewers” North Carolina’s bathroom bill. It’s hard to imagine “Lola the Drag Queen” and her gang of dancing drag “angels” skewering anything besides these grilled rainbow veggies on a stick.

The cast really just wants everyone to know that “You change the world when you change your mind!” Forget standing on principles, just go with the “flow.”
