ESPN Analyst/Former NFL Player: 'Concussion' Movie Lies About Dave Duerson

The producers and directors of the movie Concussion might not want to ask ESPN’s Robert Smith how many thumbs-up he wants to give their new movie. Because, based on his tweets this weekend, Smith might extend them an entirely different digit.

Smith is particularly upset about a sequence in the movie where Duerson, who was on the NFL’s disability board, a board that Smith serves on as well, was speaking with former Eagles safety Andre Waters about how bad Waters was feeling.

The movie then portrays Duerson as calloused and harsh, telling Waters, “Got a headache? Go see a doctor.” Then, in the next scene, Waters commits suicide.

That set ESPN’s Robert Smith off:

I suppose there may be some causes out there that are worth sacrificing the truth. However, if one must lie to advance their cause, how worthy is the cause?

Okay, no more “Confucius say.” Point is the media is lying and even people at ESPN are figuring that out. Which should make it obvious to all. “Should” being the operative word there.
