Personally, I would like to see the government get out of the whole marriage business entirely. No tax breaks, no special anything. Two people want to share life fine but why should the rest of us carry the burden?

A fraction?  She makes it sound as if a tiny minority are against gay "marriage."  Even liberals in liberal states voted for traditional marriage.  It's been voted down in every state it's been put to a vote by conservatives and liberals alike.

There are plenty of places where liberals can have all the socialism and hedonism they want, but there's only one USA, yet they insist on destroying this country instead of just moving to Canada, France, England, Russia, China, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya....

Or we could let the libs have 50% of the country and the conservatives have the other half.  They can have the east and west coasts, plus Hawaii and we can have the middle part of the country (including Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico access) plus Alaska.

The fact that people in Maine- a state far more secular than South Carolina, Louisiana, or even California- turned out to repeal legal recognition of same-sex "marriage" revealed that there is something about defining marriage as between one man and one woman that appeals beyond the religious. 

For centuries, people have spoken out against slavery and against oppression of women.  And yet, the idea that same-sex "marriage" was some sort of human right only came about around 1970.

I like this idea.  Perhaps 'Greenberg' can move to the middle east too!  That way she can write about certain countries over there that seem to have a nasty habit of oppressing certain people because of their race, ethnicity and beliefs.

This same group of people who call for "equality" and "social justice" for all want special treatment for a small minority. How can you have "equality" if you are demanding special treatment for a select group? Is this not creating divisiveness or is it just another liberal attack on Christians?

The intolerance of the left is overwhelming.  Homosexual relationships are alternative, which means not the norm.  It is NOT normal.

If you disagree with the homosexual agenda, then you are an intoleranant hater.  To the liberal, disagreement means hate.  To the liberal, a difference of opinion means intolerance.  

These people who claim that Christians are intolerant do not know the faith, the Bible or the facts.

I've absolutely had it with these sensationalist morons. Here's a point-by-point takedown of these idiotic statements:

There is nothing keeping same-sex couples from living together and doing whatever they want. But if they feel they just HAVE to be called "married" and can't do that here, then, by all means, LEAVE!

It's the gays and their moronic supporters that have THEIR panties in a bunch. And if Ms. Greenburg wants to see a third-world tyranny, try spending some time in the Middle-East. She wouldn't last a week.

Finally, most states have laws providing for the equivalent of gay marriage -  it's called domestic partnerships. These laws generally provide legal and financial benefits to same-sex partners. All the controversy comes from these same people and their supporters simply because of what THEY want their partnership to be called. At last count, some 30+ states have rejected their desire and they simply don't want to abide by the will of the majority. All I can say is "too bad". If you all don't like it, and don't want to live by the rule of law in this country, then you all can also feel free to carry your a$$e$ somewhere else.
