NYTimes Inflates Gingrich's Israel Support to 'Damaging,' Distracting' Diplomatic Drama
New York Times reporter Trip Gabriel, covering the Gingrich campaign, inflated conventional pro-Israel, anti-"peace process" opinions delivered by Newt Gingrich into a diplomatic drama about Gingrich scrapping the two-state solution worthy of "damage control," in Saturday’s “Gingrich Suggests a Reversal of Mideast Policy.”
Does Newt Gingrich believe in a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Democratic and Republican administrations since the 1990s have adopted that framework for peace in the Middle East, but Mr. Gingrich suggested that he might break with it, calling Palestinians an “invented” people and the current stalled peace process “delusional.”
He also said the leadership of the Palestinian Authority, which has pledged to respect Israel’s right to exist, really harbors “an enormous desire to destroy Israel.”
Gabriel followed up on Sunday under the innocuous headline “Gingrich Says He Supports 2-State Solution.”
A day after Newt Gingrich made comments implying that he opposed a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, provoking wide criticism, his campaign tried to carry out some damage control.
Mr. Gingrich told a Jewish television channel that Palestinians historically were an “invented” people and that the Palestinian leadership sought to destroy Israel. The statements suggested that Mr. Gingrich did not agree with long-standing American and Israeli policy in favor of negotiating an independent and peaceful Palestinian state alongside Israel.
....
Middle East experts said the views that Mr. Gingrich originally expressed were inaccurate and counterproductive. Palestinian authorities were outraged. “These are extremely trivial, demeaning and ridiculous remarks,” the prime minister of the Palestinian Authority, Salam Fayyad, said in remarks quoted by the Ma’an News Agency. “Even the most extremist settlers of Israel wouldn’t talk in such a ridiculous way.”
As Mr. Gingrich heads into a Republican debate Saturday night in Iowa, where he is leading in polls and likely to be a target for rivals, the issue has the potential to be a distraction to his surging campaign.
A “distraction,” only if the Times chooses to make it one. Gabriel didn’t consider that actual conservatives probably agree with Gingrich.

I believe in a two state solution Israel and Jordan. However the nature of the facts on the ground indicate the pfakis would get four countries Jordan West Bank Gaza and Lebanon to wage war not peace against Israel.
I think the NYT...

If one were to call those residing in, for example, the Hudson River Valley, "Hudsonians", that wouldn't make them a political and/or racial designation separate and apart from Americans (or Caucasians). Palestinians are Arabs, period. It's not Israel's fault that other Arab nations don't want any part of them other than to use them for their own political ends.
Arab squatters

They could also be accurately described as "Arab squatters" who are comprised of a combination of nationalities by birth (Egypt, Syria, Iran etc)-- and if they are non-Jewish (Gentile) descendants of citizens who lived in the British Mandate of Palestine prior to the nation of Israel's legitimate independence, then technically they could claim British citizenship-- their ultimate goal is to subjugate the whole area back to their political and military control by any means necessary, erase the government of Israel, and take possession of Jerusalem just as their Gentile ancestors have done on more than one occasion over the past 3000 years....they are about as interested in a "2 state solution" as say Hillary would be in joining the Republican party......
⇒ Absolutely invented!

My grandfather in WWI and several of my uncles in WWII demonstrated their complete embrace of being an "invented people" when they volunteered to fight wars against the land from which their forefathers came. I'm proud to be a member of an invented people - Americans.
On the other hand, the "Palestinians" live in daily shame of having chosen to deal deceitfully with their neighborhood friends. The Palestinians chose to set up folding chairs in high places from which they could cheer on the murder of their neighbors.
How does grandpa "Palestinian" explain to his grandchildren how he played the fool for his Arab handlers in 1947, and 1967?

Obama and the Liberals entertain a revived version of the 1939 solution touted by a powerful German leader of the time.
I did not say "revised" but "revived". The fact that the Liberals are satisfied with watching the Arabs and Persians do their bidding is not germane to the comparison.

Here's what I came up with when I did a Google search on Palestinian Authority + Israel's right to exist:
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist,
Mahmoud Abbas
President of the Palestinian Authority
Longtime ally of Yasser Arafat
Rejects Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state
Palestinian Authority Continues to Deny Israel's Right to Exist
And that's just a sampling.
