Bozell: Liberal Media Shamelessly Coddling 'Occupy Wall Street'; Public Isn't Buying It
Editor's Note: A new USA Today/Gallup poll that finds Americans blame Washington for the country's economic woes much more than Wall Street and financial institutions. NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell is not surprised and issued the following statement.
The American people see right through the liberal media’s favorable spin on Occupy Wall Street. While they shamelessly coddle these clueless protesters, the public isn’t buying it. Americans overwhelmingly blame Washington for the nation’s economic mess and failure to address it.
The radical protesters can’t rally around a central message, purpose or goal because they don’t have one. And their leaders aren’t the grassroots grandmas and average Americans the media characterize them as.
They are paid activists, ironically fueled by left-wing billionaire George Soros who made his money as a successful capitalist.

I REALLY like that word! I hope their parents are proud of their little "snowflakes". I wish I had a tenth of the money that was wasted on their educations. I could pay off the national debt.

Whom or whatever is propping them up financially can't afford to do so forever. What are they going to do, borrow money from China? Wait a minute, maybe a bailout...

Don't worry, the bailout will come if the Obamessiah gets re-elected. That's why the MSM doesn't worry about ratings and subscriptions. It's a Hail Mary pass to maintain business as usual.

said that the majority of new yorkers supported the movement as a headliner. But in reality the support was simply for their right to protest. As long as they don't break laws or wander much outside their small commune. The same can be said for the Seattle occupiers. It appears the mayor is trying to put them where they will be the least destructive and let them do their thing.
It's assumed by most that eventually they will burn out. The GA meetings (which can last for hours btw) are just mechanisms contrived to keep the masses on site and focused on something that seems purposeful when in reality its just busy work. They might as well be digging a ditch and filling it in again.
If boredom doesn't disburse them, the weather will.

"About a quarter of poll respondents describe themselves as supporters of the movement."
Got to love how the "movement' is "resonating" with America, as the MSM tried to claim all last week.

Russell Simmons on MSNBC
Submitted by Gat New York on Tue, 10/18/2011 - 3:33pm.
At 3:19 PM Russell Simmons was on the Martin Bashir MSNBC show being interviewed.
He was giving his view of the OWS protest crew and said that he did not see any anti-Semitism at all and everything he saw were people being abused by Wall Street blah...blah...blah . . .
What needs to be exposed is that Russell Simmons has ownership in a predatory Debit Card company (the RushCard - UniRush LLC) that preys on the very people he was protesting with. It costs about $20 to get the card and then there is a charge for each transaction - the same thing Bank of American is being condemned for by the media.
The media is hiding that fact and for Bashir not to even mention it shows how utterly biased he is and frankly worthless.

You forgot about the 25 percent who actually support the Movement and it's stated goals. Most people believe that change is needed. Most people don't believe that the Occupiers have the best idea as to how that change should be accomplished.

Let's address your polls, Chipmunk.

You cite USA Today, Marist College, a liberal arts school, CNN and a group that seems like it promotes National Health Care. Where's the spread in each poll, how many were sampled, what were their views, dems, R's and indies? And, the CNN poll was done before there was a Flea Bagging. That's what the dates in the url mean, Chip, August 10 and the word poll.
You just keep on plugging for the Flea Baggers, there, alvin the chipmunk. But, I have just a little bit of wisdom for you, wishing won't make it so... The flea Baggers are about, maybe on a good day, 1% of the population. Why, they're who they claim they hate.
Look at the various poll results.

Look at the various poll results. 75 percent of America thinks that the government should guarantee that everyone has access to quality health care , which is admirable. But you don't have 75 percent of the people agree as to HOW the government should accomplish that. The same is true with the economy, securities, retirements, ect. It is those stats that people like the Occupiers use to claim that the vast majority of people support THEM and their stated goals.
Yes, most people agree as to what is the problem, but they DO NOT agree as to how to fix it. Most "remedies," especially liberal, bigger government is better government remedies, are hugely unpopular with the general public. But none of that matters to people who claim to have large support for their particular methods as to how to fix things. They can't get majority support for their "solutions," so they neglect to tell anyone just how "popular" their reforms actually are and resort to claiming "well, everyone agrees that things must change."

What percentage of any of these groups have any idea how they should be paid for?
Other than "increase taxes on the wealthy" that is!

"What percentage of any of these groups have any idea how they should be paid for?"
The results of poll questions like that vary so much that no one can reasonably cite them as proof that the public supports their ideas as to how anything should be accomplished. All the polls indicate is just how indecisive we, as a group, are on choosing an appropriate solution.
