The news of Tony Snow’s death wasn’t wholly unexpected, but it’s still devastating. Tony was a man brimming with optimism and you just felt that if anyone could beat this cancer, he could do it. He was an absolute professional in his craft and always, always a gentleman.
The conservative movement is diminished today and anyone who knew him is heartbroken for his wife, Jill, and his three children Kendall, Robbie, and Kristi.
“Rest in peace, gentle warrior.”

A graceful man taken too soon
July 12, 2008 - 17:38 ET by sms5217Tony Snow was just about the most graceful, kind, and level-headed man in the media and politics. The conservative movement just lost one of its most effective and beloved spokesman. May he rest in peace.
May the AP, NY Times and other scum be damned in hell for their disrespect and crassness at this heartbreaking time.

Instead, I'll say this:

July 12, 2008 - 19:43 ET by danboI had mixed feelings when Tony went to the White House. I though he would do an excellent job. But I wouldn't have the chances to just listen to him speaking totally freely.
A man I greatly respected.
My heart felt sorrow for his family.

July 12, 2008 - 20:42 ET by Rush FanI sent an email to FoxNews and said in part: "Like so many others, I was a loyal fan of Tony Snow. His intelligence, warmth, kindness and humor came through each time he spoke. Tony Snow was so optimistic that he must have always looked at the glass as more than half full. I will miss him dearly! My prayers go out to his wife Jill and his family, as well as his extended family at FoxNews.
Thank you FoxNews for providing the outlet throughout the days to come for sharing memories of Tony with his friends and loyal listeners."
Perhaps some of you may want to email Foxnews and thank them for their coverage of Tony Snow. I don't know what I would do without FoxNews.
Note: Vice President Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh, among others, will be
commenting on the life of Tony Snow on FoxNews Sunday with Chris

A true gentleman...
July 12, 2008 - 21:56 ET by PrairieSkyThat's what Tony Snow was. My family and I have been huge fans of Tony for many years. He was a great talent on air and off...Indeed, in whatever he did. He had such a keen mind and possessed a sharp insight into the news, and politics in particular. Tony was respected by virtually everyone who knew and worked with him. He raised the bar for all presidential press secretaries who will ever follow him, he was so good at the job. It was great fun to watch him handle the WH press corps! He was clearly the smartest person in the room, and they all knew it.
Tony had an easy, comfortable way about him. There are few people in journalism and politics that I would be really honored to meet, and he was one of them. He was a class act in every way that matters.
God bless Tony Snow and his family. He was truly one of the good guys, and will be deeply, deeply, missed.

July 12, 2008 - 22:32 ET by BlazerI will remember him as the one Press Secretary that used to sling holy water at that vampire and Succubus Hell-en Thomas with joy and a laugh. His blue eyes would just sparkle and his boyish good looks and humor would come out even more, when he would school a member of the MSM. Tony was one Cool Cat.
It's understanable why the MSM is doing him such a dis-service today. They wish they possesed one quarter of the balls he had that Jackson threatened to swipe from Obama.

The Gift of Veracity
July 13, 2008 - 02:22 ET by nofateI first heard Tony years ago sitting in behind the golden mic at EIB. Being old enough to be skeptical of people who seem too good to be true, it became quickly apparent that this guy was real and not wearing a mask. I am not good at eulogizing, I think Mark Finkelstein put it best, in a previous post:
And that is exactly the feeling I got from Tony Snow when listening to him on the radio or wathching him on TV. I saw Brett Baer tearing up earlier today while talking about Tony. That is what I did when I first realized, while changing clothes for a trivia night, that Tony had died. He was truly one of my all time favorite news guys. RIP Tony.

July 13, 2008 - 10:21 ET by mr2nbmagHe will be sorely missed by all of us. I'm glad he is not suffering anymore, cancer is a horrible thing.
I will remember him for how he enjoyed everything. Gosh, that man found humor in everything. I can't think of a time I didn't see him smile.
I hope Tony is dancing in the clouds and playing some musical instrument. The angels have just received a wonderful guy.
God Bless you Tony and thank you for all you did for us.

July 13, 2008 - 13:28 ET by liberal_bug_zapperA true gentleman and a true man of the cause. He was what the leftnuts hated to see on our side... someone who was smart, could win an argument every time against his nutty opponent and one who had no dirt with which they could say "See!!! You're all a bunch of hypocrites!!!"
With Tony, we always won in the arena of ideas, since he could easily show that our ideas were always more sound than the leftwingers.
We'll meet you on the other side Tony. Rest In Peace!

TONY SNOW...
July 13, 2008 - 21:23 ET by danybhoyTony Snow was a truely great man, he was in an arena of politics/media in the new era of bitterness, hyper partisanship, & even hate. He was able to avoid those things & still be a very able voice for what he believed. He could dsagree without being disagreeable, something many in the political arena don't understand. He was like Russert, in that, you knew where his political leanings were, but as a media figure, knew how play fair when interviewing a politician. A very rare talent.
He has left us way too early, & I extend my best wishes to his family & friends in this saddest of times for them. His grace & class will be missed. I last heard him a few weeks(6-8 wks I'm guessing) ago filling in for O'Reilly on a Friday on Bill's radio gig. Not once did he bitch about his health, he was asked about it, & sounded positive about his fight. He knew how long the odds were, but he never let that get in his way. That told me about his outlook on life, even while staring down death.
He will be missed, RIP...
