ABC Chastises ‘Nasty’ McCain for ‘Vicious’ Attack on Boxer, Not So Upset by Slap at O’Donnell as ‘Nut Job’
“With just 16 days left, it is getting nasty out there,” ABC reporter David Kerley asserted Sunday night, scolding Republican Senator John McCain because on the campaign trail he “dropped senatorial decorum and viciously attacked a Democratic colleague.” On Saturday, in California, McCain said he’s “had the unpleasant experience of having to serve” with Senator Barbara Boxer.
Kerley, however, expressed less angst over McCain’s daughter, Meghan, insulting Christine O’Donnell as “a nut job.” Kerley simply noted how “the Senator's daughter also went on the attack, but she slammed a fellow Republican, Christine O'Donnell, a Tea Party favorite running for Senate in Delaware.”
From ABC’s World News for Sunday, October 17:
DAVID KERLEY: ...With just 16 days left, it is getting nasty out there. John McCain, campaigning for Carly Fiorina in California, dropped senatorial decorum and viciously attacked a Democratic colleague.
JOHN McCAIN, ON SATURDAY: Barbara Boxer is the most bitterly partisan, most anti-defense Senator in the United States Senate today. I know that because I've had the unpleasant experience of having to serve with her.
KERLEY: The Senator's daughter also went on the attack, but she slammed a fellow Republican, Christine O'Donnell, a Tea Party favorite running for Senate in Delaware.
MEGHAN McCAIN, ON ABC’S THIS WEEK: Christine O'Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office. I just know in my group of friends, it just turns people off because she’s seen as a nut job.

McCain is a lying, cheating, unprincipled SOB. If ONLY AZ voters would have dumped him.
He and Graham spent the last four years, if not more, "reaching across the aisle" to "their friends in the other party" and sold conservatives down the fragging river. Now they want to get all puffed up and manly and go on the attack? Forget it.
The only thing, like, going for, you know, McCain's, like, fluffy daughter is, like, the fact that she, like, may, like, ACTUALLLLLLY be smarter and more honest than he is. (Is my, like, hair, like OK?)
If the conservatives give McCain any power in the new congress, they should all be booted in the NEXT election.

No, the difference is that MEGHAN McCain attacked a "fellow Republican." You can bet if McCain was out there attacking a fellow Republican, it would have been characterized as much less than vicious. It would have been called courageous.
I think THIS is the reason Kerley didn't spend much time on what Meghan McCain said: here is what else she said about O'Donnell <spew alert here>:
....no matter what, Christine O’Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office. She has no real history, no real success in any kind of business. Your reference is absurd.
By that silly reckoning, Republican Senators should not campaign for Republican challengers against sitting Democrat Senators because their fellow Senator is a "colleague."

Meghan McCain is a problem John McCain has to deal with. Last week. You know that slob kept her mouth SHUT until her father won his primary. She is famous for one reason and one reason alone - her willingness to attack Conservative Republicans and her illusion she "speaks for her generation". The woman is almost in her 30's. She hangs around with the Z-list of Hollywood (Tila Tequila) and her book sales according to Drudge were laughable. If I lived in Arizona I'd vote for every Republican candidate on the ballot this election save one, and made sure I sent him a note why.
Well...

I do live in Arizona and I have a choice between voting for a RINO who sometimes gets the message when he's wrong and adjusts accordingly... or a Democrat who will most likely follow the Obama agenda and vote liberal policies for the next six years....
It's a choice I would not have preferred... but it's still a no-brainer.

Is Arizona the only state without a Republican primary election for Senate??? Most of the Republicans in other states have figured out that if you're deciding between a RINO and a Democrat, you seriously screwed up during the primary. Seems you folks in AZ haven't figured that out yet, and the rest of us out here really wish you guys would!

Arizona Primary
Submitted by Grumpy in Arizona on Mon, 10/18/2010 - 2:44pm.
First I would like to point out that I do not speak for the entire electorate of Arizona... nor did I personally drive the bus into a ditch...
Yes, there was a primary election (August 24) and John McCain spent millions denouncing his primary opponent former Congressman J.D. Hayworth. We really didn't have a Tea Party candidate running..
Now personally speaking, I must tell you that I honor John McCains service to our country, but I felt he is at an age and length of time as a Senator when he should have gracefully retired. Obviously my fellow Arizonians did not agree with my sane reasoning. But, if you are expecting me to apologize for their overwhelming choice... I will not. I simply maintain that my choice is between a RINO who occasionally stumbles onto the truth, and a Dem who would know the truth if it bit him... and yes, I will be voting the straight Republican ticket.
P.S. We also still celebrate Columbus day, have a right-to-carry law, and do not conform to Daylight Savings Time... I'll admit the summers can get hot - but that;s as far as I'm willing to go. :o)
Irony and Miss Meghan McCain
Submitted by Galvanic on Mon, 10/18/2010 - 9:41am.
Much like the Kennedys, born into wealth and privilege, Meghan McCain has a naive perspective of American politics, and her criticism of Christine O'Donnell for lack of political experience is indeed ironic.
Does she really think that she'd be on TV and selling books if (a) she wasn't the daughter of famous politician, and (b) she wasn't critical of conservatives?
Now, I'm not going to begrudge Miss McCain her 15 minutes of fame. The MSM is giving her a platform and she's playing it for all she can get, and the MSM is massaging her ego by proclaiming her the face and future of the GOP. She appears to be letting it go to her head.
And perhaps in an odd way, she sees herself as making it on her own without help from mommy and daddy.
But it is more than ironic that this young lady can pull the silver spoon out of her mouth to scorn someone like O'Donnell for giving her generation the impression that one can get something for nothing.
I suspect that Miss McCain will fade from the spotlight after she gets to do Dancing With The Stars or some such show.

Meghan McCain's "fame" is based solely on her willingness to attack Sarah Palin and now Christine O,Donnell. What a waste of space!
Even more annoying than MeMcCain was Amanpour's feigned worry about how the Tea Party is "hurting" the Republican Party. If theTea Party enthusiasm was really hurting Republicans, the MSM would be supportive rather than dismissive.
Amanpour is transparent in her contempt for the U.S. in general and Conservatives in particular. I suspect Amanpour believes it would be a better world if the UN took over governing the United States.

Exactly...here's the latest attack on Allen West
Submitted by Blonde on Mon, 10/18/2010 - 11:50am.
From an e-mail this weekend from the West campaign:
Over the weekend, elements of the liberal mainstream media - NBC & MSNBC - implied that I have a connection to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club - an organization who has a history of not only criminal activity, but of racism towards African Americans. This latest hit piece is nothing less than a political hatchet job made by a desperate politician who sees his campaign floundering. This comes on the heels of Ron Klein and his political henchmen releasing my Social Security number to tens of thousands of households across South Florida.
After serving 22 years in the United States Army - including in 3 combat zones - I became an avid bike rider, and enjoy spending the occasional Saturday riding my bike with fellow veterans. I have neither belonged to an organization like the Outlaw Motorcycle Club, nor do I condone any of the kind of criminal behavior that they have been involved in.
To the contrary, the vast majority of those that ride bikes are great Americans - many of them fellow veterans who also experienced the hell and horrors of combat. Just yesterday, I took part in a ride called "Think Pink," which was aimed at raising money and support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
When will Congressman Klein, the DNC and their cheerleaders at NBC, MSNBC & CNBC start talking about the Members of Congress sitting in the people's houses with multiple ethics charges? While accusing me of hanging around with criminals, Congressman Klein is making the rounds in the District in the company of an impeached Federal Judge - Alcee Hastings. When will these so called journalists ask Ron Klein why he is hanging around with criminals?
Their hypocrisy is breathtaking but not surprising. The liberal left will do and say anything to stay in power. Resorting to outright lies and unfounded accusations are the last vestiges of a failed regime.
So I would have to ask the liberal media....where is your outrage, now? Oh right, NBC already aired this hit piece.

Or the millions of libels that lib democraps (senators and representatives) called and are still calling Sarah Palin? Or the libs' attacks against Carl Paladino? Or the libs' attacks against George Allen? Or the libs' attacks against the Chamber of Commerce? Or the libs' attacks against George W. Bush? The Dem elites persist in referring to grass roots Americans who protest against excessive government as tea baggers. Even a tax-avoiding clown like Charlie Rangel used the term very recently while he awaits the commencement of his ethics trial.
And is anyone surprised that NOW has not only declined to repudiate their champion Jerry Brown for the whore reference, but actually declared that Whitman is a political whore. Imagine that. ;-)
