As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, this Sunday the Spike TV cable channel will start a mini-series, The Kill Point, centered around Iraq war veterans who rob a bank and end up with hostages in a standoff. A review in Friday's USA Today related how the leader of the robbers, Iraq vet “Mr. Wolf” played by John Leguizamo, “plays for sympathy before the news cameras, stripping down to show war wounds as he talks about how combat soldiers were poorly served.” USA Today's Bill Keveney also relayed how “Leguizamo says Kill Point isn't trying to stereotype returning soldiers or their behavior. 'They're good guys but they made a bad call, and they happen to have (post-traumatic stress disorder) and they happen to be against the war.'” When will we see a TV movie with Iraq vets doing good things who “just happen” to be for the war?
The four-part, eight-hour mini-series “event” will air, on the channel which is part of the CBS/Viacom empire, in two-hour blocks over four successive Sundays, starting this Sunday, July 22. Check the July 18 NewsBusters posting for Spike TV's summary of the plot and the starring actors.

Spike Lee is a bigot and a racist, as well as a confirmed America hater. As such, he should not be allowed to make another dime in this country, as far as I am concerned.

This is even worse. First it paints a totally obtuse and ignorant picture of what PTSD really is; second, it promotes this same stupid picture; and third takes away the dignity of the soldier who suffers from PTSD.
It is bad enough a fight to get a legitimate PTSD illness to be recognized by the powers that be and everyone has an opinion regardless of the facts; but this is beyond irresponsible.
I assert that people with combat induced PTSD are least likely to go off and do stupid stuff like this.

I have watched endless movies of crazy soldiers from Vietnam and when you consider wonderful heroes like Carlos Hathcock who was the greatest sniper in the world, saved hundreds of Americans still walking around to their thankful families, pulled soldiers out of an amtrack and receiving severe burns over 90 percent of his body, took no recognition for it and then suffered with MS to the day he died all taking care of his family and serving America.
THAT IS WHO MOVIES SHOULD BE MADE ABOUT.
Look, I know soldiers are not walking on water. I know very well our low class guard units in Iraq are doing the job, but passing female soldiers around like whores and the typical nonsense the command should be hammering. They though are not crazy and never will be. They are just human.
This is all a bit too close today in picking on veterans as I must have received half a dozen messages today from deranged lunatics from the Huffington Post as that same ilk is on there as is Hollywood. The messages are deleted unread as cowardly brats don't like hearing no for the first time in their life no more than Spielberg does in Robert Duvall telling him and the rest to stick up their wazoos.
I am glad I don't understand what is missing in people that they do not see Ted Koppell counting dead soldiers as reprehensible as it is invading a service families privacy to the MSM and Democrats using a psychologically sick Cindy Sheehan to bash Bush around.
It is though just sad when I think of my soldier family and upsetting when I see these Hollywood Huffington types use them. Soldiers have given enough. They deserve better and Hollywood needs to start considering if this was your brother would you be doing this to him.
Hollywood though needs to be held libel, because there is no Putin to hide behind here.
