NBC Tries to Undermine Romney Handling of Hilary Rosen Attack
On Monday's NBC Nightly News, correspondent Peter Alexander played up comments Mitt Romney made at a fund-raiser in Florida about cutting government programs as if the GOP presidential candidate's proposals were politically damaging, with the NBC correspondent asserting that Romney's remarks "out of the view of cameras have caused a stir." Alexander also suggested that the Romneys had been deceptive in their handling of Democratic strategist Hilary's Rosen's recent attack on Ann Romney as never having "worked a day in her life." (Video below)
Alexander began his report:
The former Massachusetts governor was chatting up fans this afternoon in the Boston heat, but it was his comments during a private fund-raiser this weekend in Florida out of the view of cameras that have caused a stir. While he's resisted offering specifics publicly, Mitt Romney says one of his top priorities as President would be cutting the size of the federal government.
He continued:
But he revealed more details to donors Sunday, comments overheard by an NBC News producer standing in an area approved by police. Romney said he might cut, quote, "things like Housing and Urban Development, which my dad was head of. That might not be around later."

After noting a few more proposals by Romney eliminate tax deductions, the NBC correspondent tried to undermine the Romneys on the Hilary Rosen issue:
At the time, Romney supporters insisted they were offended, but this weekend, Mrs. Romney, who turned 63 today, cast the gaffe in political terms. "It was my early birthday present for someone to be critical of me as a mother," Mrs. Romney said, "and that was really a defining moment, and I loved it." Her husband called the episode a "gift."

Note to news media: To balance the budget, SOMETHING has to be cut. Not reduce the rate of increase, but cut. Grow up and report fairly, but that's a pipe dream for you libtard, communist-loving, journalist types, isn't it?
Maybe if you quit attending Obama rallys and throwing your underwear and hotel keys at him, you'd be a tad more adult in your reporting. But, alas, it's not to be.
Well said Tex

What a private conversation was overheard! I thought those moments were not news worthy? Oh that is only if Obama is making deals with communist that undermine the US.
Good reporting, Alexander!

deceptive ? who?

It is the alphabet networks, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, that are deceptive. They REFUSE to air anything that might hurt their party (democrat/liberal). Obama can do or say anything, no matter how stupid or untrue and they will cover for him. Deceptive? I'd say the democrats and their cronies in the so-called MSM are the deceptive ones not Romney.
Deceptive, lying that is Obama, the democrats and the MSM.
Obama's off-the-cuff

Obama's off-the-cuff comments ("I have to put up with [Netanyahu] every day" and "I'll have more flexibility after the election") are a big yawn. But, by all means, they'll ignore Romney's public pronouncements and spend all their time dishing on private comments.
Just like Rosen's comments about Ann Romney weren't controversial, and the controversy was manufactured' while they report with a straight face that Tim Tebow is "controversial" just by being who he is.
Bias? What bias?
Shhhhh. Nothing to see here.

I'm quietly remembering how the press in 1980 insisted Ronald Reagan was a joke, out of touch, a has-been actor who couldn't possibly win. It will be fun to watch them in November when Obysmal is defeated in a landslide, all the while looking to each other with incredulous expressions, because no one they know voted for Romney.
I heard yesterday a statistic that Romney has the lowest approval ratings of any Republican candidate in April of election year since 1984. Why didn't they go back to 1980? Because Reagan's numbers were even lower, but he still destroyed Carter. That scares the living daylights out of 'em.

Landslide?

I sure hope you are right, HockeyKid. I think Romney has a chance at beating Obama, but I would bet money that it wouldn't be the same kind of landslide when Reagan beat Carter. So much has changed since 1980. Yes, the press gave much more favorable coverage to Carter, but back then the press also covered Carter in the old fashioned "journalist" approach, where they actually spent time and reported on Carter's bungling and mistakes. Back in the late 70's, it was still "journalistically fashionable" to cover a Democratic President in a light that didn't portray him as infallible.
Fast forward 30 years, and the legacy media is basically part and parcel with the left and the Dems, or maybe it's the other way around. I believe that if Obama had received the same kind of press coverage as Carter, or even Johnson for that matter, that Obama wouldn't even be running again for office. His approval numbers would be in the 20's. Of course, both Johnson and Carter, and Clinton for that matter, were viewed as Southern hicks by the elites in established elite leftist circles. So while they tolerated these three Presidents, as long as they served their purpose, the press could also could get their jabs in and score points among their peers.
Obama is their dream come true. A clean, articulate, "oppressed" minority from Chicago. He is untouchable, and always will be. The holdover power of the legacy media propaganda machine will make this a race, and probably a close one.
We saw what the true feeling of the country was in the 2010 election. A repudiation of all things leftist, and repudiated by historical proportions. But 2012 is different. The MSM couldn't personalize all the different congressional races in 2010. But they can personalize and support one man very easily. That's why 2012 is going to be a fight.

(and no Jer, not fire ALL the lawyers)....would be to fire the additional 140,000 employees the Federal Government has hired under Obama.
Then cut EVERY budget (except defense) by 3%, across the board. This on Day One. From there, begin a top to bottom review, and remove or consolidate all duplicative functions and departments. Then dive into the regulatory situations within consolidated departments, and reduce their functional responsibilities by 90%.
I'd be happy to help, I know how it's done.

They twist and turn and make things up like this faux report and try and convince the public that whatever lie they tell is important enought o ignore the corruption of their clients.
