On Monday's Countdown show, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann tagged conservative talk radio hosts Mark Levin and Sean Hannity as "lunatic right-wing" hosts, and Hannity as "not-so-smart." Responding to a recent joke Levin made on Hannity's radio show that the National Organization for Women is really the "National Organization of Ugly Women," Olbermann called Levin's show "psychotic" and charged that the conservative host "knows his ugly."
The MSNBC host's attacks on Hannity and Levin came during the Countdown show's regular "Best Persons" segment, which, contrary to its name, often includes people Olbermann means to be attacking, similarly to the show's "Worst Person" segment. Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Monday, September 8, Countdown show on MSNBC:
KEITH OLBERMANN: And number one, best insight. Lunatic right-wing radio host Mark Levin phoning in to correct lunatic and not-so-smart right-wing radio host Sean Hannity. Hannity was blasting NOW, the National Organization for Women, calling it "the National Organization of Liberal Women." Levin corrected him, saying it was actually "National Organization of Ugly Women." Look carefully at this guy. If he owns a mirror or he listens to his own psychotic programs and can see his own soul, he knows his ugly.

The good news is his show
September 9, 2008 - 11:13 ET by iconoclastThe good news is his show is mostly supported by the far left loonies anyway, so there's really no harm done.
From all of the media reports about him over the last several months it's pretty clear he's a joke in that circle. His "peers" don't even take him seriously. In fact, from what I've read and heard, he's an embarrassment to most journalists.
He regergitates the same venom about the same people night after night. To me, it feels like I'm watching a rerun of some series I used to find fun to watch, but after seeing the episodes over 100 times I've just became bored with it all, and after a few minutes, I turned it off. I'm betting that even the Kos is going to get bored after awhile and turn him off as well.
And if the above doesn't happen, he'll have a melt down.
Either way I believe his days are numbered.

September 9, 2008 - 11:03 ET by c5thenHe's prooved it with Chris Matthews, his partner in liberal biased election coverage. The two were so over the top in their obvious bias, that even NBC had to pull them off the air and replace them with David Gregory! Now that is bias!
The only group who even possibly likes him is the nutroots contingent.

September 9, 2008 - 11:07 ET by Roger the ShrubberTo a Marxist douchebag like Olberman, those guys ARE nutjobs. Doesn't mean it's TRUE or REALITY, but it is Olberman's (not very-educated) opinion.

September 9, 2008 - 11:19 ET by iconoclastI don't think he's a Marxist. I think he's a hate filled opportunist. He's going for the gold and the power. Going for the gold makes him more of a Capitalist than a Maxist. Granted he's emotionally disturbed and mentally ill, but nonetheless he's an opportunistic Capitalist.

September 9, 2008 - 12:51 ET by iconoclastI'm not saying Marxists take porverty vows. I'm questioning Olbermanns motives. My point is, he may be attempting to put a Marxist image out there, but he's all capitalist. In other words, he's doing it for the money and power...not for "the movement." He's a hypocrite in the grandest sense. He's far worse than those he condemns.

Edit: I would agree with you on this: he is an opportunist in that he will seize any opportunity he has to drive his message home: Bush sucks, Republicans are baby-touching homophobic dumbasses, etc.

I'm angry.
September 10, 2008 - 00:08 ET by JWFAs quartermaster of the Rightwing Nutjob Club, I make the call on who is a member and who is not.
I got this funny idea that the news and truth and journalism and facts should all be wrapped up in one tight little ball and it's not and that makes me angry. It is kind of why I gravitated to NB in the first place.
I take precious time out of my day to actually research an issue and then I hear people comment on issues in which they clearly did no research at all (think most of Hollywood) makes me even angrier.
There is only one person angrier than me and that is Mark Levin. For one hour a day, I don't have to be angry because Mark carries the load. And Gawd can the man put teh verbal smackdown on a liberal!
And, on yeah, Mark is a founding member of the Rightwing Nutjob Club, because the club is all about the facts, the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, free markets, free trade, strong defense, and rugged individuality, and of course smackin around teh hippies.
