I'm a single mother, living in Wayne, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. I'm a registered Republican who's always voted with my dad, a WWII veteren, without paying much attention to the whole process. This year is the first year my daughter can vote and we have been following things since about 6 months before the primaries began. I see, now, how limited my information has historically been, as it was all MSM. Without the internet, I would never know what was really happening and I would have little "hope" that McCain was even in the running!! I never realized how left-biased the media was in general, not just the fringe left like Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews (at least I "hope" they're the fringe). The only show on MSNBC that is anything close to balanced is Morning Joe, which also has the most politics in the am.
I am learning so much about how the media controls the message and I am glad that I never knew how bad it was because there was no way to even things out then, without the internet (I never listened to talk radio, except Howard Stern, when he was free and I was so much more cynical). In writing my dad's WWII memoirs (now that he's dying and finally talking) I have awakened a very deep sense of patriotism. The guys I talk to on my dad's bomb group's website are so great--there are very few living vets, but their families are right there to tell me how it was.---I found your website while reading Hot Air. I'm new at this, so be patient or don't let me in if I'll mess things up. Thank you.
