- Former college football player, retired police officer now a Auto Parts Store Manager. Wanted to be a teacher and sports coach but was told that my conservatism had no place in education. I demanded too much dicipline, too much performance and didn't consentrate on the self esteem of the student the way the NEA demanded. The fact that I hold a degree in American History. Minors in Coaching and Conversational Spanish and have a background in Physics and Geometry were also negatives in that they wanted Education Majors who can teach any subject with only a text book. When I taught without a certificate for two years I was informed that my students were too far ahead and their standardized test scores hurt the students that weren't in my class by rasing the median higher than the system wanted it. In other words you know what you are doing and are making the rest of us look bad.
