- I am retired from the US Army. I had my first major taste of politics in 1964 when I was campaigning for Barry Goldwater. Although I was way too young to vote I could campaign and campaign hard for the Senator. I have been engaged in State and national politics since. I have written speeches, opeds, policy papers and even given counsel to elected politicians.
