- I am a veteran of the Air Force with a tour during the Vietnam War over in Thailand. I proudly claim my status as a Vietnam Vet but do not dishonor those who actually served in Vietnam by claiming to have been there myself. I live near Chicago and I was given the nickname of General Al by a previous employer because he saw me as a "Take charge guy barking out orders to my fellow co-workers. I was a seargent in the Air Force but enjoy the honorary title of General!
