About Me

Profile

I'm a lifelong Conservative and daily reader of a number of choice blogs.  I was really turned on to media bias back in 1998 when I took a class at the University of Buffalo taught by Prof. Michaels that focused on just that subject.  In fact, a Brent Bozell study was required reading for the course.  Last time I checked, the class was still in the course catalog, believe it or not.  I'm sure NewsBusters is probably now part of the curriculum.  If it's anything like it was then, it's also a safe harbor for Conservatives on the campus.  There were about 40 or 50 students in the class and only two liberals who were never able to form a cogent argument much to the dismay of the professor and students who were always ripe for a good debate.  Unfortunately, most ended on a first round knockout.

Now, that you've gotten over the shock of hearing that there's actually a Conservative professor and course on a college campus, I'll continue.  After that fateful class, I realized that there was an alternative and more importantly, that I wasn't getting the real story from the MSM.  It wasn't long until I discovered Fox News.  Soon after, my radio listening was slowly converting to mostly political talk (when it wasn't Yankees baseball).  Seeing as I live on Long Island, I was privileged to have access to WABC radio and the fine programs and variety of hosts they provided.  A welcome relief to the real news, since outside of the New York City papers, the only major publication is one of the most Left papers in the country, Newsday.  I think by now they've even managed to slant the legal notices to the Left.

Then came blogs.  Now, I spend a good portion of time reading my favorite blogs, including NewsBusters, Michelle Malkin, Debbie Schlussel, Stop the ACLU and several others.  I particularly enjoy NewsBusters however because one of my primary topics of interest is the bias in the MSM.  When I inform most people of the truth behind the MSM's version of most stories, they're amazed.  Then I suggest continuing their education by picking up a copy of Bernard Goldberg's Bias and moving forward from there.

Lately however, a big shift in my interest has moved toward the illegal alien problem in the United States.  Of course, that's not really independent of the MSM bias, but it's definitely as big a problem since one is helping perpetuate the other.  It's especially bad on Long Island where Newsday has yet to refer to the aliens as illegal or even aliens in their pages.  Their lie of choice is "day laborers."

My Other Sites

I'm a web designer by trade, mostly for industrial companies, where I'm finding most of our clients are Conservatives.  I also do some free lance and hobby sites, none of which is politically themed.  I do run a Yankees fan site (www.yankeenumbers.com) where I do offer commentary, but mostly on the Yankees (surprise) and baseball in general.

I'm currently laying plans for a politically based website, but it's very much in the embryonic stages at this point.  However, it will deal more significantly with the illegal alien problem, especially the local Long Island media's coddling of them.
