Alexandra is President and Founder of All Things Beautiful. A
successful serial entrepreneur of some 15 years, she is much more
defined by her roots, growing up quite literally living the political
struggle of Democracy vs. Dictatorship:
Her maternal grandfather was executed by General Tito's henchmen as
part of his brutal purge of Yugoslavia's political and intellectual
elite post WWII. General Tito sought to squash all allies of
Alexandra's great uncle Milan Stojadinovic,
Prime Minister of the former Kingdom of Yugoslavia 1935-39, and a
staunch opponent to Hitler's and Stalin's dictatorships. After the war
he immigrated to Argentina, where he founded and built the venerable El
Economista, still in the family's hands today as Argentina's equivalent
to The Wall Street Journal.
Her late father Borislav Pekic, was recently described by The New York Times as a creator of literary might and one of the most important literary thinkers of the 20th Century (read also My Father 'The Hero').
Alexandra soaked up political and intellectual debate on a day-to-day
basis throughout her childhood, and coupled with her present career and
a keen interest spanning from politics and current affairs via the Arts
to fashion and lifestyle, led to the creation of the 'All Things Beautiful' blog.
