ArchivesJust some more good news...Naturally, you'll never hear about this kind of thing from the major networks. After all, what people don't know affects their perceptions every bit as much as what they do know. It's this kind of operation that will win in Iraq, for them and us. Here's to Mr. Hussayn and others like him. This is your war to win. Keep it up. McCain and the ACUIn the debate for and against McCain, one thing that comes up frequently is his ACU ranking of 80. Well, rankings are statistics, and you know what good old Mr. Clemens said about statistics. Turns out he was right. Thoughts? Nets Excited by 'Major' Edwards Endorsement to 'Create One America'
ABC was so excited that its 6:30 PM feed of World News went live at about 6:40 PM to Grand Rapids, Michigan for 90 seconds of Obama introducing Edwards, compete with a Bruce Spingsteen song as Edwards bounded on stage. Gibson then acknowledged: Timed for maximum exposure, timed to coincide with the evening newscasts, timed to give Barack Obama a needed boost after his bad defeat yesterday in West Virginia. George Stephanopoulos, this is the kind of publicity that you can't buy. Indeed, no need to pay for it when ABC News is eager to give it to you for free. Stephen King’s Third Explanation Still Unapologetic to Military
I guess in his world, literacy means never having to say you're sorry. On the upside, at least this time he didn't tell anybody to shut up, or blame the outrage on "Guys like [Noel Sheppard who] take their cues from [conservative commentators Rush] Limbaugh and [Bill] O'Reilly." So, we've got that going for us...which is nice. But before we get there, let's look at King's strike three as posted at his website Wednesday (emphasis added): Anti-Conservative Hollyweird Update -- BDS and Globaloney Galore
There is a whole raft of new projects that are sure to become box office stinkers that make Americans rather want to stay home instead of stream to the movies. There's Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) extravaganzas, anti-capitalist potboilers and global warming scaremongering galore all coming to a theater near you! Edwards Endorses . . . Worldview of USA as 'Bully'JOHN EDWARDS: There's also a wall that's divided our image in the world. The America as the beacon of hope is behind that wall. And all the world sees now is a bully. They see Iraq, Guantanamo, secret prison, and a government that argues that waterboarding is not torture [lusty booing from the crowd]. This is not OK. That wall has to come down. For the sake of our ideals and our security. We can change this. We can change it. Yes, we can. Cuban health careThe next time Mikey Moore or any other Hollywoodenhead extolls the greatness of the Cuban health care system, I would like for them to explain this: (In Spanish) It seems that a Iffley Patty, a former model turned veterenarian, of Venezuela, traveled to Cuba in 2005 in order to correct a sinus problem. She received for her trouble, the removal of her nasal septum. When she asked to return to Venezuela to correct the botched job, they instead transferred her to the José Marti Hospital where she was told that those who performed the operation were not acquainted with maxilo-facial surgery. During the second operation, she contracted a bacterial infection which severely damaged her upper palate, nostrils, and part of the right cheek bone. She has difficulty eating and talking. She has tried to receive reparations from Cuba, but to no avail. One may argue that this is an isolated event and is not the norm for the Cuban health system, but given Mikey Moore's/Hollywood's penchant for propaganda, I would say that this is the rule and not the exception. So, three vivas for Mikey Moore and his confederates in the msm, for being the ignorant and socialist bastards that they are! Moyers, Tavis Smiley Discuss Fall of the 'American Empire' on PBSBill Moyers appeared not only on The Daily Show Tuesday, but on the Tavis Smiley show on PBS, where he repeated all his lines in defense of Jeremiah Wright. Moyers also declared that while "I believe in capitalism...the tension between capitalism and democracy is that capitalism breeds inequality while democracy aims for more equality," and the media serves only the rich. When Smiley asked if were "witnessing the fall of the American empire," Moyers said yes, and that "it's probably a good thing that our empire has reached the extent of it -- has extended itself so far that it's beginning to have to have some second thoughts about it." The talk of America's "empire," as if America were no different than ancient Rome, came near the end of the segment:
FNC: Montel Williams 'Sick' of Media ‘Attempting to Control This Election’On Wednesday’s "Your World" on FNC, host Neil Cavuto talked with talk show host Montel Williams about the election and asked if Williams was backing anyone, to which Williams responded: "You know, I'm into the election year, but I got to tell you I'm -- here I'll do something controversial, so it'll get us both fired. But I'm sick right now of the way the media is attempting to control this election rather than just report the news." [audio available here] Williams' condemnation of media went further: "People keep being called or claim to play a race card, when it's really us in the media that are playing the race card, trying to bait people to play into the race card. I'm sick of some of what I feel is some of the most divisive politics that I've seen in the last 20 years." Cavuto again attempted to find out if Williams was supporting any particular candidate, but instead Williams articulated his responsibility as an influential television personality not to endorse anyone: CBS ‘Early Show’ Offers Opposing Side in Global Warming Debate
Sieberg began his report with a dire prediction: "There are an estimated 20,000 - 25,000 polar bears in the Arctic region, but environmentalists warn that rising temperatures and disappearing sea ice will cause a 30 percent decline in their population over the next 50 years." He also played clips of liberal California Senator Barbara Boxer and John Kostyack from the National Wildlife Federation. However, Sieberg also provided perspective from the Heritage Foundation: Serbia Turns Westward, Spurns Russia; Media YawnsThe Democrats and the mainstream media have long been pushing the meme that George W. Bush is a 'unilateral cowboy' who alienates our supposed allies. Funny thing about that, in the past six years, the governments who actively oppose American goals and who expressed their disdain for the current President have one by one been pushed out of office and replaced by governments who are much closer to the Bush Administration. This has happened so far in Germany (Angela Merkel), France (Nicolas Sarkozy), Canada (Stephen Harper) and now in one of Russia's closest allies, the Republic of Serbia. As reported by the Washington Post, Serbia's pro-Western president declared victory in Sunday's parliamentary elections _ a stunning upset over ultranationalists who tried to exploit anger over Kosovo's independence. But his rivals vowed to fight on, and it was unclear if he could stave off their challenge. "This is a great day for Serbia," Boris Tadic proclaimed after an independent monitoring group that carried out a parallel vote count nationwide said his bloc won 39 percent _ about 10 percent more than the ultranationalist Serbian Radical Party. Of course the Post managed to miss the fact that this is one more supposed ally of Russia's neo-Communist and imperialist president Vladimir Putin that has instead chosen closer ties with the free states of Europe and the United States. Michelle Malkin pointed out the fact that the Post managed to completely miss, writing: Where’s the Beef? It Doesn’t Matter, It’s Bad for the Environment, Says ABCIt's the sort of thing you would see on propaganda passed out by animal rights activists at a global warming rally, but somehow the message has infiltrated the mainstream. ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson" told viewers on May 13 to curb beef consumption to lower greenhouse gas emissions. "You are staring into the face of one thing scientists say you can do to fight climate change," ABC correspondent Dan Harris said as the face of a cow filled the screen. "Leave this cow alone and eat less beef. According to the United Nations, 18 percent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions comes from sending beef and dairy products to your kitchen table." Financial Times: Too Few Girls As Tech Geeks? How About a Sex Change?
"They are heavy users of technology yet avoid studying IT," the subhead explained, noting that "female skills" in IT are "in great demand." Oddly enough, the editors at FT may have found one solution: transsexual IT staffers. Flipping to the back page of the FT's Digital Business special section, readers could find the tale of one Kate Craig-Wood (pictured above at right), whom reporter Peter Whitehead described as "the attractive, intelligent and articlulate 31-year-old managing director of a successful technology business... a woman whose extraordinary journey provides a unique insight into the role that gender plays in the technology workplace." Did I mention Craig-Wood was male for the first three decades of her life?: CNN’s Brown Rejects Suggestion That McCain Hasn’t Received a ‘Free Ride’
Brown must have forgotten that her own network hasn't exactly given a "free ride" to McCain in the recent past. Earlier in the week, CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, speaking of McCain's environmental record, stated that "he's not as far as to the right as Bush is, but he's pretty close." On April 2, CNN correspondent Dana Bash interviewed McCain and asked if he was "heartless" on the issue of the economy. PBS Star Bill Moyers Says Rev. Wright 'Assassinated by Soundbites'PBS omnipresence Bill Moyers appeared on Tuesday’s edition of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, and delivered a long-winded defense of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who he said was "assassinated by soundbites." Moyers regurgitated the original, discredited Obama line, that out of 200,000 minutes from the pulpit, "His whole life, his whole ministry, his whole career was being summed up in sound bites that added up to no more than 20 seconds endlessly played through the media grinder of our national press." Wright was just making a few errors, like most of us do, he argued: "All of us have made absurd statements. I know that Rev. Wright, whom I had never met before this, was no doubt, had misspoken and made some erratic statements and all that. Most of us do." [audio available here] Sheriff JoeGov Napolitano of Mexico--oops--oh well-- I guess I mean Arizona: "According to several reports, Gov. Janet Napolitano has signed an executive order shifting $1.6 million out of the budget for a task force set up to unravel human smuggling networks in the state, and reassigning the money to a new effort to round up tens of thousands of fugitives. "
This is Sheriff Joe Arpaio's budget. The Governor is using filthy political tricks to prevent the sheriff from enforcing immigration laws.
The Global Warming Tutorial Media Should be Required to TakeDo you ever get the feeling the reason most people in the media have bought into Nobel Laureate Al Gore's global warming myth is that they are largely uneducated in matters of science, and regardless of the volume of information available at their fingertips via the Internet, such pompous folks are too lazy to take the time to do any research that might challenge their dogma? After all, the depth of most press members' studies regarding climate matters is having watched the schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" which is full of more holes than Paul McCartney's roof (kudos if you get the pun without clicking on the link!). As such, assuming the answer to the introductory question is a resounding "Yes," might I suggest media be required to take the following tutorial offered by Professor Bob Carter of James Cook University in Australia (part one embedded right). In it, Carter addresses five tests of the hypothesis espoused by the climate alarmists that there is "dangerous human-caused global warming": | |
