WashPost Columnist Colbert King: Bash Imus, Don't Change the Subject to Rap, Sharpton

Washington Post columnist Colbert King used his usual top-of-the-op-ed-page column on Saturday to bashing Don Imus and anyone who would shift the subject to vicious rap lyrics, "as if that absolves the 66-year-old broadcaster of marking the young collegians with a despicable label." He didn't want anyone changing the subject to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson either:

To shift the argument, as some have done, from Imus to the legitimacy of the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson criticizing Imus, given their own past insensitive remarks, is a smoke screen. The National Association of Black Journalists led the outcry against Imus. We didn't need Sharpton or Jackson to tell us how we should feel about Imus's insults or how to recognize what is morally wrong.

So the natural question is: has Colbert King ever criticized a rapper? Or Al Sharpton?

Legit Questions for 9/11 Conspiracy Boogereaters

Post from Unsane January 2007 (bravo, my friend)

Questions concerning the WTC conspiracy, that is much whined about and smacked around, but NEVER EVER answered for some strange reason:
1) How much explosive material was used to bring down the towers?
2) How was it placed in the building?
3) How much was used in what locations?
4) How long did this process take?
5) How many people were involved in that effort?
6) Where were they procured from? (That big an order for explosives had to attract attention and could not escape notice...)
7) Where were they stored before being staged (set up for application)?
8) Where did the staging take place?
9) How were those staged explosives transported to the towers and when?
10) What steps were taken to ensure no one noticed what was going on?

On PBS, Jonathan Alter Noted Bill Clinton's 'Working the Refs' on Obama's 'Free Ride'

In 1992, Republican chairman Rich Bond oafishly suggested in public that he was arguing the media had a liberal bias because he was "working the refs," cynically complaining about harsh coverage to get better coverage. But many candidates try to work reporters this way, and on the slightly dated April 4 edition of the PBS talk show Charlie Rose, Newsweek's Jonathan Alter said Bill Clinton's trying that tactic against Barack Obama, who he feels hasn't been challenged or critiqued by reporters:

JONATHAN ALTER: He`s working the refs, as we say.

CHARLIE ROSE: He`s doing what?

ALTER: He`s working the refs....Basketball players understand that.

Skiers Protest Global Warming Hours Before Record Snowstorm Arrives

Are those combustibles, potables, and sharp objects still in a safe place? Good, because the Silly Saturday Snowstorm Stories continue.

As reported Saturday morning by the Associated Press (emphasis added):

WILMINGTON, N.Y. -- Skiers unfurled a protest banner in April snow on Whiteface Mountain on Saturday to kick off a nationwide day of demonstrations aimed at drawing attention to global warming.

The skiers fear long-term temperature increases promise trouble for native plants, wildlife and people in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York state.

Why is this funny? Well, because a massive snowstorm is heading directly to this area threatening to drop more of the white stuff ever seen in this part of the country in April. (Update: Winter storm warning issued for Wilmington, NY.) As reported by AccuWeather (emphasis added):

Kansans Hoping Record Snowstorm Won’t Cancel Global Warming Rally

Don’t remove combustibles, potables, and sharp objects from safe stowage just yet, sports fans, for the news this morning continues to provide chuckles that could prove dangerous to computer equipment and other consumer electronics.

And I'm loving it!

There is supposed to be a global warming rally in Salina, Kansas, on Saturday. However -- as if totally on cue! -- a record snowstorm for this late in the season is threatening to turn this green celebration white!

You really can't make this stuff up!

As comically reported by the Salina Journal (emphasis added throughout):

Tucker Carlson Gets Game Show; Media Coverage Typical

photo on MSNBC of Carons

TVWeek and TMZ announced that “conservative MSNBC pundit" Tucker Carlson, will host a game show pilot remake of the Johnny Carson 1950s classic, “Who Do You Trust." While this is potentially good news for Tucker, what is more interesting is how these two sites described the former “Jeopardy” champ.

TVWeek focused on Carlson’s conservatism while describing the show instead of his journalism background and non-scripted TV experience with shows like “Jeopardy” and "Dancing with the Stars":

CBS has tapped conservative MSNBC pundit and famed bow-tie aficionado Tucker Carlson to host its game show pilot "Who Do You Trust?"

The NewsBusters Weekly Recap: April 7 to 13

They Must be Guilty of SOMETHING

According to ABC’s Terry Moran, the Duke lacrosse players may have been falsely accused of committing rape, but that doesn’t mean we should feel too sorry for them. As the MRC’s Ken Shepherd noted, “Leave it to a liberal journalist to bring racial tension and class warfare into a story about three men exonerated of rape allegations after a year of prosecutorial misconduct.”

“Here at GMA, We Don’t Understand Irony”

On the same day that "Good Morning America" weatherman Sam Champion reported on the April snowstorms hitting parts of the East Coast, ABC promoted a new special promoting liberal environmental advocacy. This shouldn't be a suprise since GMA kicked off the week by promoting Laurie David's global warming tour.

Tom DeLay Calls For Conservatives to Take Down Rosie O’Donnell

This is waaaaay too funny, folks, and requires all combustibles, potables, and sharp objects to be properly stowed before proceeding.

In response to the recent brouhaha concerning Don Imus and the Rutgers women’s basketball team, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has called on “conservatives to use the available media (radio talk shows, blogs, letters to the editor) to protest and demand that Rosie O’Donnell be kicked off The View.”

They didn’t call him “The Hammer” for nothing, folks.

In a piece posted at his blog Wednesday – obviously before CBS radio decided to fire Imus – and deliciously titled “If the Left takes Imus, We’ll take Rosie,” DeLay described this deplorable event in a way that only he could whilst issuing a reciprocal call to arms:

Black Sportswriter Calls Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton Terrorists

In the midst of this disgraceful Don Imus affair, one thing has been sickeningly apparent: few members of the media have the guts to stand up to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and call them out for their obvious hypocrisy.

Such can certainly not be said of Jason Whitlock, an African-American sportswriter for the Kansas City Star who not only wrote a remarkable, must-read column on this subject Wednesday, but also went on MSNBC’s “Tucker” Thursday to say things about this issue and race relations in this country that few in the media would ever dare.

In reality, this is so fabulous that you must see the entire video (h/t to NB reader nicksmith112 and Hot Air), but here are some of the amazing highlights:

Pat Schroeder on Imus Incident: People Thought Meanness Was Masculine

Has the Imus-inspired national conversation on race and sex jumped the shark? I'm starting to suspect so after hearing Pat Schroeder this morning. Her most notable contribution to the collective dialogue was to suggest that there's something inherently masculine about verbal meanness.

The former Democratic congresswoman from Colorado was a member of a panel moderated by NBC's Lester Holt on this morning's "Today."

E.J. Dionne Claims FNC Chief Roger Ailes Secretly Admires MoveOn.Org Democrats

Long-time New York Times and Washington Post "objective" political reporter-turned-liberal columnist E.J. Dionne on Friday wrote he suspects Fox News chairman Roger Ailes "secretly admires the bloggers and other activists working to keep Democratic presidential candidates from debating on his cable network."

Baloney. If he's secretly admiring Democrats for anything, it's for showing they're thin-skinned spoiled brats who are used to having an army of Stephanopolice reinforcing their every talking point. He's admiring how the Democrats are only building the appeal of the network to an audience of people who are looking for someone who doesn't follow along with the suffocating liberal consensus that lamely claims the mantle of "objectivity" as it throws rose petals in front of the Obamas and Rodhams.

Con Artist’s & The Internet…

Con Artist’s & The Internet…

SARASOTA, FL. (NS) –

You’ve all heard the statement before, “Let The Buyer Beware,” but now add “Businessman Beware” to that when dealing with anybody out on the Internet…

After starting a business and broadcasting relationship back in December of 2006 with an Internet Radio Station entitled “WIRN Online,” which stands for The World Internet Radio Network out of Iowa, I have also become a ‘victim’ of deceptive business practices which could result in criminal charges being placed against the owner of WIRN, James Bryant aka Tim Bryant…

I started out running PI Ads which you’ve all heard on Radio and TV Stations across the Country. These Ads are run on a contingency basis where phonecalls are made to numbers provided in the commercial spots which pay the station or program playing them a certain amount of money as a commission for playing the ads…
