NBC Lawyer Who Blocked Pro-Troops Ad Gives Generously to Dems

The recent NBC kerfuffle involving the rejection of ads supporting the troops during the holidays continues to get more and more interesting.

Now, it appears one of the attorneys involved in the decision gives generously to Democrats.

As reported by Michael Brady of the Majority Accountability Project:

Islamists Target Michael Savage

Islamists Target Michael Savage
By Cliff Kincaid  |  December 3, 2007

Ironically, CAIR's vice-chairman received the ACLU's 2003 Liberty's Flame Award "for contributions to the advancement and protection of civil liberties." But the civil liberties of Michael Savage don't matter in CAIR's scheme of things.

Americans don’t have to look to Sudan to see Islamic fanaticism and extremism in action. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is trying to destroy the Savage Nation radio show featuring Michael Savage. Having forced the firing of radio host Michael Graham from WMAL in Washington, D.C., CAIR is trying to force independent conservative Michael Savage off the air nationally by intimidating his advertisers. Officially, CAIR claims its mission includes encouraging “dialogue.” But this is a big lie.

Global Warming Sexism: 'Women Bear the Brunt of Climate Change'

As you certainly know by now, the liberal bogeyman known as global warming has been implicated by green media representatives and Al Gore sycophants - assuming there's a difference - as being responsible for virtually every planetary malady.

Yet, did you know that women are more threatened by climate change than men?

You didn't?

Honestly, with a woman in good position to be the Democrat's presidential nominee, all I can say is, "What took them so long to come up with this one?"

As feministicly reported by India's Sify (emphasis added throughout):

Media Misfire on CIA Interrogation Tape Destruction

The media have gone into full frenzy mode the last two days over some destroyed CIA interrogation tapes. And are you really surprised? The story has all the ingredients that the mainstream media just can't resist: 1) waterboarding, 2) allegations of cover up and obstruction of justice, 3) and the opportunity to ask "what did they know and when did they know it?"

The story centers around the 2002 CIA interrogations of two al Qaida operatives, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri. In the wake of 9/11, CIA operatives admittedly used aggressive interrogation techniques, which included waterboarding. The CIA videotaped the interrogations, and then reportedly held the tapes until 2005 when they were destroyed. Critics (meaning Democrats and the media) have complained that the tapes were destroyed just as a public debate was brewing over torture and interrogation.

When the story first broke this week, the media predictably looked first toward the White House.

Barbara Walters: Chavez Still Fascinating, But His Harshness Is Edited

The recent setback in Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez’s efforts to proclaim himself ruler for life were stunning to ABC News woman Barbara Walters. "I was amazed that he, that he didn’t get to be president for life."

Perhaps Barbara was shocked that the people would rise up against this charismatic man she’d already wrapped into her special on the Ten Most Fascinating People of 2007. When asked if Hugo’s setback made him less fascinating, Walters said no, that "we try to have people that do positive things." But her actual profile of Chavez (recycling a March interview) turned a bit dreary. Her enthusiasm cooled enough that she actually edited more emotional quotes (both from Walters and Chavez) out of the brief profile.

Here’s the transcript from MRC’s Colleen Raezler:

NBC Double Standard: Today Show Aired Antiwar Ad by MoveOn.org

As NewsBusters reported Friday, television network NBC has decided not to run ads thanking and supporting America's troops stationed overseas during the holidays.

*****Update: Drudge is reporting that NBC has capitulated due to "pressure from outraged viewers." Stay tuned...

The sticking point according to NBC's head of standards and policies Alan Wurtzel was that Freedom's Watch "insisted that the spot contain the URL address of its Web site."

Yet, such didn't seem to be a problem a few years ago when MoveOn.org created an antiwar ad entitled "How Many More" that, according to the organization's website, ran during NBC's "Today" show (video available here, h/t NB reader Blair Lovern):

Gore Takes Train From Oslo Airport, Luggage Takes Mercedes

Friday's adoring Associated Press piece concerning Nobel Laureate Al Gore's noble decision to take the train from the Oslo airport rather than the traditional motorcade to his hotel neglected something else besides the huge amount of carbon dioxide being emitted by the Global Warmingist-in-Chief: his luggage!

After all, Gore and wife Tipper aren't going to wear the same clothes this entire trip they wore on the plane, right?

So, where was all their baggage as the couple took the train?

Well, according to the Norwegian website VG Nett, Gore's luggage went by Mercedes van (h/t NB reader in Norway Trond Ruud who supplied the following translation):

CIA cover-up ?

The left never ceases to amaze me.The CIA has the right to keep secrets. When Hillary releases all documents from the Clinton library and masage parlor, then we will tell the CIA to release their stuff. The CIA is protecting our ass in this country, but as we know all too well, people like Ted Kennedy and Katie Couric couldn't give a damn about this country.

Larry O'Donnell's Latest Rant: Mormonism 'Demented, Ridiculous'

Lawrence O'Donnell, already infamous for his in-your-face rant at John O'Neill of the Swiftboat Veterans, is at it again. This time, the object of O'Donnell's obloquy is Mitt Romney, and in particular his Mormon religion. Appearing on last night's McLaughlin group, O'Donnell indulged in an angry, protracted condemnation of Mormonism.

Excerpts:

  • This was the worst political speech of my lifetime. Because this man stood there and said to you "this is the faith of my fathers." And you, and none of these commentators who liked this speech realized that the faith of his fathers is a racist faith. As of 1978 it was an officially racist faith, and for political convenience in 1978 it switched. And it said "OK, black people can be in this church." He believes, if he believes the faith of his fathers, that black people are black because in heaven they turned away from God, in this demented, Scientology-like notion of what was going on in heaven before the creation of the earth.

God Bashing Film Promotes 'Awareness'

The mainstream media have been fawning over the atheist inspired film "The Goldan Compass" and ignoring the fact that the author (upon which the movie is based), Phillip Pullman, has bragged about killing God in his novels. Well, according to CNN, the real focus should be on the fact that the film raises "awareness" about the plight of polar bears. No, really.

ABC's Investigative Reporter (of Republicans)

In 2007, ABC's investigative reporter Brian Ross has provided hard-hitting looks at Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani. He's focused only one such segment on a Democrat, Hillary Clinton. And, unsurprisingly, each of his investigations into a GOP candidate has been accompanied by snarky, sarcastic comments.

For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: The Senate blocked the House's energy bill yesterday. It would have raised taxes on the oil industry and required electric utilities to generate fifteen percent of their power from alternative energy sources.

Whitewash Review: Hillary's Scandals Will Re-emerge

James David Dickson of The American Spectator reviewed our book Whitewash on Blogcritics:

"In the general election," counsels Jonah Goldberg, "audiences will remember Whitewater, Travelgate, illegal fundraising, bimbo eruptions and impeachment. If they don't, you can be sure Republicans will remind them. Fair or not, the Republicans' intense dislike of Hillary will underscore the idea that a vote for her is a vote for more of the same rancor."

Whitewash is a great place to start in producing this rancor. As to whether conservative journalists will have any success cajoling their mainstream brethren to join them, that, like Hillary's election next November, is far from inevitable.

Some conservatives have insisted that the Republican nominee can't win merely by offering negatives about Hillary Clinton scandals, even if Dick Morris did call her "The Tornado" for all the trouble she caused. It's not up to the GOP to remind people of Hillary scandals. It's up to the conservative New  Media.

ABC, CBS & NBC Hype Kennedy's 'Cover-Up' Charge Over CIA Video

Taking their lead from liberal Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy, the three broadcast networks all screamed “cover-up” Friday night as ABC and NBC led with Democratic complaints about the CIA destroying video of some interrogations of terrorists while CBS made it the second story -- though Katie Couric teased it with “Cover-Up?” on screen under video of Kennedy. “Tonight, charges of a cover-up by the CIA,” Charles Gibson teased World News, “why were videotapes of its secret interrogations of al-Qaeda suspects destroyed?” Gibson set up his lead story by asserting “congressional leaders are in an uproar tonight over a secret they were never told, and will now never know,” as if leaders of both parties were “in an uproar.” In the subsequent story, however, all four soundbites from members of the House or Senate came from Democrats (two of the four from Kennedy). Couric got it correct as she highlighted how “today Democrats demanded a criminal investigation.”

Brian Williams teased the NBC Nightly News: “On the broadcast tonight, was it a CIA cover-up? New fallout after revelations the CIA may have destroyed videotape evidence in the U.S. war on terror.”

Traditionalists UNITE....and SAVE our country!

I found this wonderful opinion at  http://meatandpotatoesblog.townhall.com/

While reading it Fred Thompson immediately came to mind.

 Traditionalists UNITE....and SAVE our country!

Divide and conquer.  That is the methodology to defeating a foe which is organized and formidable, correct?  Well, I'm sick of all this talk which divides conservatives according to various criteria because I believe it is being engineered to conquer us next November.
