Archives'Macaca' Man Works for Richardson; WashPost Says 'Alas,' No StuntsAs Sen. Jim Webb prepares for his Sunday interview on Meet the Press, let's note the well-placed word that demonstrates that The Washington Post still relishes the moment that young S.R. Sidarth first launched the "Macaca" boat. In a small Wednesday item reporting Sidarth now works for Bill Richardson for President, reporter Michael Shear -- who with Tim Craig beat every bush to spread alleged racial bigotry all over George Allen's face -- displayed his opinion by saying "Alas," young Sidarth "is not reprising the role" of opposition camcorder agent. Here's most of Shear's small item:
Bozell on Tila Tequila, 'Kid Nation,' and Family Guy Ads for SubwayBrent Bozell's culture columns in the last two weeks have tackled some very contemporary topics, from new MTV star Tila Tequila to CBS's "reality" fest "Kid Nation" to Fox's "Family Guy" even working itself into submarine sandwich commercials. The latest column explored how MTV keeps looking for a new sexual barrier to cross on its "reality" shows:
more than one God?Friday, November 30, 2007 More Than One GOD? I am basing this article on the King James Bible as well as my being raised lutheran. I am now a christian and learning more about ancient texts all the time. I believe in God, well actually I think ther are 3. No I do not want to hear 3 in 1 triune God. I think there are 3 separate entities. What I base this on comes from the book of Genisis. In the begining God created the heavens and the earth. OK good with that, now comes the zinger. On the creation of man God says let US create man in OUR image. He does not say let ME create man in MY image. hmmmm. what's up? love liberal democratsSunday, November 4, 2007 I have to say that I find the Liberal and SP (secular progressive) group of people very interesting. They have many great ideas to improve the state of this country. I am sure to get responses telling me that liberals do not promote these things, but I have read them in the NY Times, LA Times, seen the reports on CNN, ABC, NBC, and local news networks. Take for instance passing out birth control to 11 year olds in Maine through the schools without parental notification. This will prevent many unwanted pregnancies and help teach these girls to get going with sex. Which in turn brings us to the Boulder Colorado school assembly in which 4 adults spoke to the students encouraging them to have sex with as many people as they can both male and female. This is great, more freedom! Would Liberals Tolerate Hillary Questioner With 'Hidden Ties' to GOP?Here’s an update on the St. Petersburg Times report on CNN’s snarky response to conservative bloggers. Eric Deggans, one of the reporters on the CNN-YouTube debate, brought his own skepticism on Friday to CNN’s responses to the secret Hillary Campaign questioner on his blog The Feed. (Deggans is not a conservative, as my earlier Koulter Klan blog illustrates.) Deggans mentions the anti-CNN complaints of bloggers on both sides, but suggests the liberals should consider how they would respond if the shoe was on their foot: "even though some liberal bloggers are saying the political background of questioners shouldn't matter, I have a hard time believing they would have tolerated seeing Hillary Clinton asked a tough question on an issue important to conservatives by someone with hidden ties to Rudolph Giuliani or George W. Bush." Sports Reporter Blames Rap and 'Black KKK' for Sean Taylor Murder
NewsBusters readers are likely familiar with Jason Whitlock, the outspoken sportswriter for the Kansas City Star whose views on race relations in America typically go quite contrary to most in the mainstream media. On Wednesday, Whitlock wrote an article for Fox Sports.com concerning the recent shooting of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor. True to form, Whitlock spoke of truths few press representatives and even fewer black leaders dare to today (emphasis added, h/t Larwyn, reader is cautioned that some of the language is a tad raw at times): New Republic Folds Its CardsIt took fourteen pages--13 of those geared towards Franklin' Foer's attempt to keep his job--but here's the punchline: When I last spoke with Beauchamp in early November, he continued to stand by his stories. Unfortunately, the standards of this magazine require more than that. And, in light of the evidence available to us, after months of intensive re-reporting, we cannot be confident that the events in his pieces occurred in exactly the manner that he described them. Without that essential confidence, we cannot stand by these stories. Stay tuned. I'll have much more later, including why Franklin Foer said nothing to justify keeping his job. Update 20:18. As promised, here's the full context. Save TuckerBy TheHill.com associate editor A.B. Stoddard
Earlier this week fellow blogger Brent Budowsky bagged on my friend AP Fawns Over Hillary’s 'Presidential' Handling of Hostage Crisis
Democrat Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton was hundreds of miles from a hostage crisis that occurred at a campaign facility in Rochester, New Hampshire, Friday, and had absolutely nothing to do with the matter's resolution. Yet, the Associated Press - almost as if parroting talking points from one of Hillary's campaign workers - managed to not only give her credit for what local officials in the area did to quickly solve the takeover without any injury or loss of life, but also painted a picture of the junior senator as being presidential in the midst of a crisis. NewsBuster Jason Aslinger reported earlier that Politico.com was similarly guilty of Clinton-sycophancy concerning this unfortunate event. With that in mind, what follows is nothing less than sick-making, and I apologize for ruining your Saturday by sharing it with you (disgusted emphasis added because misery loves company, h/t to NB reader Damian G): Global Warming and the Tax the Rich Scheme
Have you noticed the genie concerning the real modus operandi behind climate alarmism beginning to peek its head out of the bottle lately? After the United Nations announced earlier in the week that rich countries - code for America, of course - are going to have to pay billions of dollars to help poor nations deal with global warming, several international press outlets published articles of similar content. Is it possible media are recognizing that since the Democrat presidential candidates are all advocating a tax the rich platform it is safe to begin discussing the need for developed nations to foot the bill for international global warming solutions? Consider an op-ed published Friday by Britain's Guardian (emphasis added, reader is strongly advised to hide wallet or purse before proceeding): Some Questions the Media Won't Ask Today About AIDSIt's World AIDS Day, so prepare for the usual media blitz of stories designed to promote more spending on failed approaches to HIV/AIDS, and more bashing of the Bush Administration despite increases in spending by the billions each year. Here are some of the questions that the media probably won't ask the professional HIV/AIDS lobby, which grows ever fatter while the human tragedy rises: Antiwar Film ‘Lions for Lambs’ Could Lose $25 Million
Well, think again, for it appears that this much-anticipated film, featuring the much-anticipated return of Tom Cruise to the big screen, is a bigger bomb than anything the enemy has been able to lob at us in Iraq since the surge began. As deliciously reported by Reuters Friday evening (h/t NBer botg, emphasis added): She Still Takes a Villager -- Hillary’s Authorship Lies Helen Thomas Smacked Down by Press Secretary Perino
White House Press Secretary Dana Perino gave conservatives and right-thinking Americans across the fruited plain an early Christmas present Friday by smacking down liberal antagonist and so-called "journalist" Helen Thomas. During Friday's press briefing, when Thomas pressured Perino about American troops killing people in Iraq, the Secretary scolded Thomas for her despicable behavior:
Indeed. Those interested in early gifts should watch the entire delicious exchange while reading the partial transcript that follows (video available here, h/t NB reader Damian G. and Bryan at Hot Air): Clinton Immediately Touted as 'Presidential' in Hostage SituationWe had a little campaign drama yesterday as a disturbed man (who claimed he had a bomb) took hostages in the Rochester, New Hampshire, headquarters of the Hillary Clinton campaign. Over a period of several hours, all of the hostages were released. And eventually the hostage-taker, Lee Eisenberg, surrendered without incident (but not before calling CNN ... maybe he had a debate question?). When the incident began, Hillary Clinton was in the Washington area. She cancelled her campaign schedule for the day and immediately travelled to New Hampshire, where she met with law enforcment and the families of the hostages. Clinton made at least two public statements during the day, and she held a news conference (video) after the ordeal ended. Clinton's actions were certainly appropriate for the incident, and her statements were sober and direct. But in the end, her actions were no different than what any other politician or candidate would have done. Saturday Sports Open ThreadOkay, sports fans, there's a lot to discuss this final weekend of the College Football regular season. Before we get to some very exciting matchups, assuming the favorites win today, how are you feeling about the projected BCS games? Does one of the most exciting CFB seasons in history have the potential of ending with tremendously boring bowl games, or is all this new blood vying for the National Championship exciting you? I mean, with absolutely no disrespect to Mizzou and WV, does a Tigers-Mountaineers matchup for the Title do it for you? (Personally, I love it, and find it to be the perfect ending to the perfect season!) On to the games: V-Tech and Boston College. I'm very excited about this game, maybe mostly for the Hokies to be in such a big game at the end of the year given what this school has gone through. GO HOKIES!!! Tennessee at LSU: Could this be a big letdown game for the Tigers after last week's stunning OT loss? Tough for me to be impartial, for the son of one of my trainers is a Vol! GO TENNESSEE!!! I know people will think I'm crazy, but the Mountaineers better be ready to play today, because the Panthers, after a very disappointing 4-7 season, would love nothing more than knocking rival West Virginia out of the Title game. Same for Mizzou. Sooners would love this upset big time. Ditto the Bruins. This game is no cake-walk for USC. The NewsBusters Weekly Recap: November 24 to 30
From CNN's perspective, what would be the perfect addition to its YouTube Republican debate? Why, someone who is on a steering committee for the Hillary Clinton campaign! Keith Kerr, a retired, gay general was in the audience for the November 28 debate and grilled the Republican candidates over the issue of homosexuals in the military. Somehow, CNN forgot to mention his connection to "LGBT Americans For Hillary Steering Committee." The next day, network anchors even tried to cover up their knowledge that the general was an "activist." Don't be Bigoted Against Campaign Operatives! CNN's audience, however, probably shouldn't be surprised at the network's actions. Prior to the debate, anchor Anderson Cooper defended the usage of such plants by asserting, "Well, campaign operatives are people, too. We don’t investigate the background of people asking questions…that’s not our job..." The cable channel's tricky tactics marred an otherwise commendable debate. As noted on NewsBusters, a majority of the YouTube questions aired by CNN were from a conservative perspective. Open ThreadFor general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Any thoughts?
