ArchivesSoros Tries [Succeeds in] to Buy[ing] CongressAIM Report: George Soros Tries to Buy Congress - October B Ding Dong: ISG's Dead
Said Pinkerton: "I think the most interesting thing has been the total evaporation of the Baker-Hamilton commission as a force in American politics. Of all people Laurence O'Donnell at the Huffington Post had a headline: 'Rush Limbaugh Is Right,' about the report, saying it is a formula for surrender. And whether you like it or not, Neal, Bush is not going to surrender Iraq." Saturday Funnies: Partridge Family Star Smacks Down Left-Wing Whacko
While eating lunch at an outdoor café in Hollywood, former Partridge Family star Danny Bonaduce was rudely interrupted for an interview with an extraordinary left-wing whacko named John Conner (must-see video available here, hat tip to Hot Air). To get an idea of just how far out in the ozone this character is, he has a movement and website called Resistance Manifesto wherein he expresses sincere devotion to the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 espoused in the film “Loose Change,” and claims that President Bush is the anti-Christ. More NAU "Conspiracy Theorists"Robert Pastor, a leading intellectual force in the move to create an EU-style North American Community, told WND he believes a new 9/11 crisis could be the catalyst to merge the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Pastor, a professor at American University, says that in such a case the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP – launched in 2005 by the heads of the three countries at a summit in Waco, Texas – could be developed into a continental union, complete with a new currency, the amero, that would replace the U.S. dollar just as the euro has replaced the national currencies of Europe. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53378 *Predicted response from the Unsane Clone Posse: "Blah blah blah, it doesn't exist because I don't believe it exists, blah blah blah blah...." Utterly Disgraceful Eleanor Clift Column Regarding Sen. Johnson
Eleanor’s disgrace started with the headline: “Balance of Power; Tim Johnson's health crisis is a reminder of the fragility of the Democratic majority. What the party should do now.” Do you eat with the same hands you type with, Eleanor? Regardless of the answer, Clift began her abomination by suggesting Johnson’s malady might have been something prayed for by the President, and that Republicans are on their knees hoping for the worst (emphasis mine): AP Labels Evan Bayh 'Centrist': But Ratings Reveal Just Another Liberal
That sent me scurrying to a favorite source, Project Vote Smart, to check Bayh's ratings from various interest groups. Yes, he's probably less liberal than, say, Barbara Boxer. But check out some of his ratings: Drudge Report: Full of Liberal biasHere is a commentary that is discussing the ravages of liberal bias in the media and cites the Drudge Report as being a major contributor to this bias. I find this hard to understand myself. Granted, sometimes the headlines are sensationalized; I kind of attribute that to the art of hyperbole. I have observed that in many instances the Drudge Report actually includes multiple sources from varied publications to give a full spectrum of information and bias. Bottom line, I am not convinced that Drudge is biased and I will continue to review the Report of information along with other sites. Matt Damon Insults Military, Thinks Bush Twins Should be in Iraq
Well, it seems that such statements do indeed have an impact on how others view things, for in an interview that is going to be aired on “Hardball” Monday, “Saving Private Ryan” actor Matt Damon says that people only enlist for financial reasons. Damon also takes a shot at the President’s daughters for not volunteering themselves (must-see video available here). What follows is a brief segment of Damon's statement that host Chris Matthews showed during his Friday installment to advertise next week’s show, and an update that includes insults of Vice President Cheney by the actor: Military Historian Lt. Col Robert Bateman Takes Apart AP's 'Burning Sunnis' TaleMickey Kaus, the iconoclastic Democrat who loves picking on Democrats, points to this posting from Lt. Col. Bateman, which asks many pertinent and justified questions about a suspicious Associated Press story about six Sunnis burned to death and four mosques destroyed in the Baghdad neighborhood of Hurriya. The AP doubled down on the story's veracity (though other press outlets, including Al Jazeera, have yet to confirm it) and insisted the story's main source, Iraqi police captain Jamil Hussein, does in fact exist. Kate Snow Cheerleads Clooney on Darfur: 'This Is One We Can Fix'
But Darfur, another bloody conflict between warring Muslim groups? Well, that's different. Not only can and should we be involved, but, we're blithely informed, "this is one we can fix." What's the difference? As more than one commentator has observed, liberals are all in favor of American intervention - so long as we have no national security interest at stake. Global Warming Poses Threat to Ski Resorts in the Alpshttp://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/16/world/europe/16austria.html
And about 15 paragraphs of doom and gloom later, the truth. Temperatures in the Alps began heating up around 1980, Mr. Böhm said, after an uncommonly cool period that started in 1950. This coincided with the major development of the European ski industry. FCC Chairman Resembles Rumsfeld, And TV Sleaze Is Like Missing WMD?Brent Bozell's entertainment column this week focuses on a Simon Dumenco column in Advertising Age magazine demanding the resignation of FCC Chairman Kevin Martin because he's too cozy with "ultra-conservatives" who want the FCC to uphold broadcast decency standards in any way:
Independent AmbassadorsLaura Ingraham was sitting in for Bill O'Reilly tonight. She announced that Democrat Senators Dodd, Kerry and Republican Arlen Specter are all planning to visit Syria and possibly Iran against the administration's wishes. Additionally, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson met today with North Korea officials, again against the administrations wishes. It is my belief that these independent and undesired meetings and trips are going to cause more damage to theUnited States than anything else in President GW Bush's administration. I consider the visits and meetings to border on treason and may fall under the Logan Law. "Similarly, the U.S. has recently introduced legislation to protect national security. Under the "Logan Law", US citizens anywhere, who, without the authorisation of the US government, "directly or indirectly take up or maintain any kind of correspondence with any foreign government official or agent in connection with any dispute or difference with the US, shall be fined in accordance with that provision, jailed for up to a period of 3 years or both." Human rights also fall by the wayside in relation to suspects detained at Guantanamo Bay." |
