Hillary Dinged By Dowd As 'Dreaded Eventuality'

Be it her politics - or perhaps her personality - one thing is clear: some big-time MSM women columnists don't dig Hillary. Yesterday I described here how the LA Times Rosa Brooks described Hillary - in the context of her support for legislation authorizing torture in ticking-bomb type cases - as having "hit bottom" and "fallen as low as it's possible to go."

Today Maureen Dowd weighs in - with a vengeance. The central thesis of the subscription-required Obama’s Project Runway is that the Illinois senator needs to decide whether he is content to be the glamor guy basking in Dem adulation, or wants to get serious and run for president. [On a related note, earlier today I posed the question here as to whether Obama is ready for prime time in light of his suggestion on last night's Olbermann that we should encourage Iran and Syria to "take ownership" for the stability of Iraq.]

Worst President in History?

Two more things to add:

First former President (Clinton was second) to break the Presidential tradition of never criticizing a sitting President. (Over 220 year tradition)

Only President to file a UFO sighting report.

Dick Morris and NY Times Score Clinton-Spencer Debate Differently

The first debate between incumbent junior Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and the challenger John Spencer occurred Friday night, and your opinion of who the winner and loser was likely depends on which media source you rely on. As one would expect, the New York Times gave the win to the Democrat. Conversely, former Clinton administration advisor Dick Morris felt Hillary lost “big time”.

The Times reported:

Bozell on Hip-Hop Moms: One Sees Conspiracy, Another Sees Consensus

Brent Bozell's culture column this week focused on two Washington Post articles from black staff writers who were moms horrified by the current state of hip-hop music and its effect on their children. Lonnae O'Neal Parker wrote broadly in "Why I Gave Up On Hip-Hop," but the other seemed very narrow-minded:

Natalie Hopkinson saw it in a different, more racially conspiratorial light. She wrote about how she reacted in horror when a middle-aged white female professor of hers said her five-year-old son Maverick was a fine boy and added, "I just can’t wait to watch him grow up and see his wonderful career as a rap star."

The horror was understandable, but the edge of paranoia creeped into the article. Hopkinson didn’t think the remark was innocent, but "confirmation" of a "conspiracy to destroy black boys," citing an author named Jawanza Kunjufu. (His book by that title is harsher. He calls it "genocide.")

Air America's Failures: NPR Listener Loyalty, Top-Down Business Model

Media Life magazine had two media experts answer why Air America went south. Nancy Haynes said exactly what I've said from the beginning, that taxpayer-funded radio was the big obstacle, over 700 affiliate stations, a very established network:

Air America has had an especially tough time growing its audience because its affiliates must take listeners almost entirely from other, more-established stations, and the most likely source for Air America to “steal” audience would be from NPR affiliates. Yet NPR's isteners are among radio's most loyal. That's bad news for Air America.

Andrew Ettinger added the other obvious point, that radio dynamos like Limbaugh and Hannity built slowly, from the commercial ground up, not from the philanthropy-driven top down:

Democrat Staffer Suspended For Possible Leak Violations Has Ties to Rep. Jane Harman

As reported Friday, a Democrat staffer was suspended last week over possibly being the source of the recently leaked National Intelligence Estimate to the New York Times. New reports from the Los Angeles Times and Fox News identified the name of the staffer in question, and that he has ties to Rep. Jane Harman (D-California) who expressed such outrage over the incident (hat tip to Michelle Malkin):

The aide was identified by other congressional officials as Larry Hanauer. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of a pending investigation into the leak, said Hanauer had held positions with the departments of Defense and Homeland Security before joining the professional staff of Democrats on the House intelligence panel about two years ago.

The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Peter Hoekstra (R-Michigan) is apparently fed up with all the leaks coming out of Congress, and sent a letter to Harman’s office addressing such concerns:

Geologist Refutes Media Myth: World Has Lots and Lots of Oil

A common theme in the media the past couple of years has been that the world is running out of oil, and that energy prices will do nothing but head higher for the rest of time. Well, a University of Washington economic geologist issued a statement on Thursday not only refuting such contentions, but also claiming that we will never fully deplete the earth’s supply of black gold:

If you think the world is on the verge of running out of oil or other mineral resources, you've been taken in by the foremost of seven myths about resource geology, according to a University of Washington economic geologist.

"The most common question I get is, 'When are we going to run out of oil.' The correct response is, 'Never,'" said Eric Cheney. "It might be a heck of a lot more expensive than it is now, but there will always be some oil available at a price, perhaps $10 to $100 a gallon."

The press release continued:

Obama: Iran, Syria Should 'Take Ownership for Stability' of Iraq

I DVD'ed Olbermann overnight to check just how fawning a performance he would put in with his guest Barack Obama - whom FCC regulations require me to describe as "the rising star of the Democratic party." When it came to Olbermann's sycophancy, I wasn't disappointed. After accusing Republicans of "terrorizing" Americans, the MSNBC host continued:

"proposing an alternative course for American politics, one that replaces fear with - of all things - hope, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and his new book, The Audacity of Hope."

Failed Ex-President Carter

I refer to Jimmy Carter as Failed Ex-President Carter.  For the edification of those who were born after 1970, or were not paying attention from 1977-1981, I have created a list of some of Failed Ex-President Carter's more notable blunders while in office.  When the MSM speaks of Jimmy Carter, you seldom, if ever, hear mention of these:

  1. Gave away the Panama Canal
  2. Sat by as Russia invaded Afghanistan
  3. Allowed Communists to take over Nicaragua
  4. Sat by as Iran held our Diplomats hostage.
  5. Blundered the "Energy Crisis"
  6. He canceled the B-1 Lancer bomber program.
  7. Cut funding for our military

Clearly President Carter was merely Governing the U.S.A., not Leading it.

MA. Gov. Mitt Romney & FL. Gov. Jeb Bush Come To Sarasota County...

SARASOTA, FL. (NS) --

It was quite an afternoon Thursday at Venice Airport when both FL Governor Jeb Bush and MA Governor Mitt Romney jumped up on the podium with 13th Congressional District Candidate Vern Buchanan...

There were about 200 of the GOP's faithful present that were treated to a double dose of Republicanism at the Republican Party rally for Vern Buchanan...

I managed to find where there was a breeze, but most people braved the sweltering heat in the Agape Flights hangar. The Agape owners are friends of Congressional Candidate Vern Buchanan...

Most supporters waited for about an hour for 'Jeb' and 'Mitt' to arrive...

When the governors showed up, it was all cheers and a lot of hand clapping...

Buchanan volunteers and Republican party leaders were on hand as well as candidates Doug Holder, Dan MacElroy and State Representative Nancy Detert...

Profit Envy: Bankrupt Air America Draws False Parallel to Fox News

Air America is grasping for straws in some mighty odd places. A mass email from Air America host Thom Hartmann today touts the parallels between the plight of the bankrupt left-wing radio network and, of all things, Fox News Channel [FNC] and the Washington Times.

Excerpts:

  • "There are times when doing the profitable thing is also doing the right thing. That's certainly what Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch thought when they lost an average of $90 million a year for about five years before the Fox News Channel became profitable."

Sestak And CREW Launch New Dirty Trick On Weldon

CREW - Citizens For Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (eye roll) have launched a new dirty trick against Curt Weldon and it is clear it was done in conjunction with the Sestak campaign. What remains to be seen is if the Mainstream media reports it objectively given the obvious facts.

E-mails received by CREW have prompted us to ask the Department of Justice to investigate whether Congressman Curt Weldon (R-PA) violated the law by intimidating government personnel "in the national security field" who support his opponent, Joe Sestak.

The first e-mail describes a "hit list" compiled of Weldon opponent's supporters. In addition, that e-mail notes the Weldon said something to the effect of "If they don't think there will be retribution before or after the election, they're kidding themselves." The second e-mail states that Weldon had his staff contact Navy personnel to get information on Sestak.

Democrats KKK and the Present

Immorality does not care what you look like. It does not care what your age, race, nationality, religion, sexual preference, or political affiliation is.  But .... There are Immoral Democrats.

Violators

The Democratic Party has seldom or never marketed themseleves as “The Party of Moral Values”, thus that’s why Bill Clinton and other democrats, was somewhat forgiven for their travails.

Can you believe the above comment was made by a Democrat named Gerald as he was attemtpting to Defend Democrat Corruption?
