Montgomery Gentry are too blue collar for blue America.

At least that's the impression you would get reading Bill Friskics-Warren's review of the country duo's latest album, a "greatest hits" entitled Something To Be Proud Of.

"Staunch blue-collar populists" like Montgomery Gentry, worries the reviewer, root themselves in nostalgia for a time before "among other cultural advances, the women's and the the civil rights movements."

As proof of sexism and misogyny, Friskics-Warren bemoans the subject of "She Couldn't Change Me" being "put in her place," and is chagrined by the "smugness of the song's macho protagonist."

Sunday’s New York Times Magazine features another weekly submission from Randy Cohen, writer of "The Ethicist" column, about a non-political topic -- who should pay for damage done to an office building by a doctor’s patient -- but on Friday’s Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS Cohen made clear his disgust with President Bush. When Ferguson raised Bill Clinton’s name, Cohen reacted with outrage that Ferguson was still concerned about such old news: "Oh, Clinton, he's been out of office for, you know, how long? Seven years. Some little lie about his personal life. We've got a guy now who lied the country into a war. You're talking about Clinton from seven years ago?" Actually, Clinton left office fewer than five years ago. Cohen advised that on Monica Lewinsky “he should have said, 'None of your business' and then after that, it's between him and his wife.”

Cohen’s hostility to President Bush isn’t based on recent events. A MRC CyberAlert item in June of 2003 recounted: “Since President Bush is either a 'liar’ or 'corrupt’ or just plain 'incompetent’ now that his reasons for war with Iraq have all been found to be untrue, the 'ethicist’ columnist for the New York Times wondered on CNN whether Bush can 'honorably’ continue to serve in office.” (Full rundown of those comments, in which he made Aaron Brown seem reasonable, as well as what he said Friday night on CBS, follows.)

Please allow me to write about the great movement in America that is trending us ever so closer to Socialism . The fact that your little mom and pop stores over the years have been lost , that up and down our streets we see more and more Chain Stores , and less wages from this trend because Stock price is more important , shows the Imbalences that have evolved since a Big Business agenda that has wiped out the very fabric of our nation that Capitalism is so dependent on for healthy redistribution of the market wealth , and that be a the Small Business sector !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Capitalism will only survive if we can get back to a more balanced amount of Big and Small Business , so that Consolidation of the retail markets that leads to Consolidation of the wealth of these markets , that is happening right now , does not continue , and lead us to dispairity , and then the big Vote , the Vote that soon the Democrats will be able to put to the People of America , and that be a Vote for Socialism , because Capitalism has Failed , and the Society would be better served by a Socialist lead Government , that would form and allience with the other socialist countries in the world . People we are in the beginging stages of a civil war , for Our Rights as a Founding principle , the Priciple of Free Enterprize , or Capitalism . This system over the years every time a Democratic majority was able to write trade policy , or impose a Big Business only approach to our system , by seeing the biggest Corporate Merger to take place during the 1990s , and to see the Clinton WTO trade policy allow a 10 year Tarriff Free import policy that has now ended in taking all the good paying jobs out of the country , and killed off all small business or Big Business's ability to compete , because of the different Currency values , as well as Tarriff free imports , has our Capitalism dying , and Socialism evolving right before our eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People we have got to salvage what little bit of Capitalism that is left before its to late , and that means a Political Civil War that will right these wrongs , before America slips away for ever and is replaced with a system that will not allow us to better our selves through our own achivements , our own abilities , our own talents as entreprenuers , as intelects, as Dreamers of a Free country . I for one as a small business owner , have seen first hand this distruction over the years , that has been imposed on how the system that use to support all forms of business , after the Vietnam War , became the vocal point that Capitalism was over as our nations base for Freedom , and that because the wars of Korea and Vietnam were to only support Capitalism , was the reasons for change , as was the dialog of the New Democrat Movement in America was launched and has been hell bent on killing off Capitalism everytime they gain power and can implement policies that would do so . Carter did in the 1970s , with all the embargos that kill off our trading partners , then after a decade of Reagan revitalizing small business and the entreprenuerships awards , that started the Bill Gates era , and the Steve Jobs era , that spawned the tech booms of the 1990s , and then with a new trade policy that Newt Gingrich specker of the house was opposed of because of the fears that we would become unable to compete because of the tarriff free import policy that since then has become the case . And on top of that , from my knowlege as a NFIB member that is the Voice of Small Business on the Hill , and reports on how Congress votes for small business issues , shows that the only Democratic Senator that supports small business is Zell Miller , has me believing that the Motivation behind the Democrat Mind is one of SOCIALISM , and not CAPITALISM . So if you have a desire for your rights as a person that might have a chance to try and succeed with a invention that you have , or maybe you just want to make sure that this right will exsist in the future for your kids , then you will want to focus your right to vote for a Party that supports your right to a System that stands for these principles , and that so far from what I can see is the Republican party of the Mighty USA .     Howdy , Good Morning  Sir  ,  I am deeply motivated this morning to write about the TV show Meet The Press , and while watching the conversating , seeing the Great Divide that is being created by how everyone is so struggling with how and why we are in the battle we are .    Sir , I am without words first of all for the loss , of life , and wounded , SINCE 911 , that has been forgotten , and what I mean is America didn't really ever hear , How many people were wounded , and disfigured from 911 , all we heard was how many were killed . And what about those who have to go on too ? and the fact that this fight for a different way of defending America , from the past ,  is still without Definition as to a complete total solution , which would probably be a mistake to come to the concultion that we will ever be totally without the threat of being terrorized again , if we become to complacent . This is what Iraq is up against as well , and to think that we can leave  being a country that has become divided on why we are there is what is going to be the down fall of this great great country . I can't believe that the political motivation of swaying public opinion for gain has entered this effort , after all who have been lost , all who have died , all who have to pick up the peices of their lives , for what , as some have now put this kind of a face on our efforts after 911. I am without words , SIR , without words because of the sour taste in my mouth after hearing a statement like I did this Morning on Meet the Press , by a guy who showed me that he has forgotten about all the Civilian casulties of this war in the begining . New York City and its people will never be the same . London will never be the same . The USS cole will never be the same . The whole world will never be the same . How can America find its way back to the middle Sir , with the pulling and pushing over the political mind of the people , that is being tossed back and forth , like a volley ball , back and forth , to the point that everyone has only this on their minds , is what will be the down fall of are security in the future . I believe that the time has come to call on the very people that this thing was started over in the first place , the Civilian victims and their lost family members and everyone that new them . What about them ????  I never hear Tim Russert bring them on the show and ask them how they been doing since 911 , when all the life was tore right out of them . I think we all have forgotten about them . They should be on posters , yes posters showing everyone everywhere that this is the heartbeat of America , and that their courage to continue forging on with their lives , to recreate their futures without everyone that was their futures , is why we as a Nation have got to pull together , and get on with the business of making sure this kind of HELL NEVER happens again , Sir !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is the reason why we went to war , and to not make it CLEAR , will be why we all will lose this fight , a fight that we have all lose our focus on . So the Noble thing to do right now , is to remind the WORLD , not just America , that we are still remembering 911 , and all those who lost their FREEDOM , both the dead , and the ones left behind !!!!!!!!!!!! Those people really lost their FREEDOM FOREVER , SIR , when they lost their loves of their lives , I mean think about that , these people will never feel safe ever again . And to forget about that is a SIN , a sin to disrespect these people , by making the annual event of 911 , nothing more than a curcus event of rememberance , like we remember our past catastrophies with a Calender event . I here the B.S. back and forth in the Government , and how never , never do I hear anyone say anything like , Hey man have we forgot about our brothers and sisters , and mothers , and fathers , our uncles and aunts , our sons and daughters who were lost in the begining of this hell , this invasion of our country , by those who creat hell on earth , for the rest of us to have to deal with ??? . America has the only real reason to make a stand against these SOBs in the whole world , and to hear that guy this morning on Meet the Press , put a Face on America , that looks like we Didn't have a Right to try and make the world a better place , and by the way if all the Democrats are trying to isolate themselves from this war , because they were misled , is grounds in my mind for their resignination from their position of being leaders for AMERCA , because this country is not a DICTATORSHIP , and to say that you Mr. President , and Vice president , misled them into war , has got to be the biggest dam bunch of BULL I have ever hear of SIR ! , A Free Country means that these guys were able to gain the same knowlege as anyone in this free country that is led by our elected officials . So for them to say they just sat back on their asses and didn't get up and make a effort to personally find out all they could so that when they got up and publiclly make speeches to ME about why we need to continue on the march for SECURITY in AMERCA , and take out any threat including SADDAM , tells me that these guys and gals should be voted out of office for not make dam sure that they were conviced that the Country that supports the " FREEDOM of INFORMATION ACT , was what they were making their decisions on were why they supported the war , which what they did . They can't blame you , hell Sir they tell you to go to war , what a bunch a Bull , sorry sir , but this is rediculous.  Please Sir please make sure that we don,t forget those who gave their all on 911 , and the fact that the connection between 911 and those who want to do us harm , are being armed by those who want to see us evolve into a country of total and complete Insecurity , and dispair , as the Oil for Food Scandle has shead some light on . If Kerry would have got in , all this would have been swept under the rugg , and we the people would have been LESS SECURE because of it . I am so glad you got re-elected , because the counrty would have become a complete and total loss of what the history of her time was for . We can't back down now , because if we do , we not only let down the dead of our history as a pillar of all who cried for America , all who dreamed of her great shores , all who over the centuries  came to this mighty mighty country for freedom from those who found killing noth more than the Mowing of Grass , as Stalin put it , or hey what about all who over the centuries found their creative ability here , and were able to build a history all their own , and pass that on to their sons and daughters , generation after generation , that in any other country , would have only been a dream . That is what America was made from was that FREEDOM to DREAM , and from those who Dared to Dream , came the Greatest Dam Society ever to be known to man , , and is why today we fight , we fight to presreve these pasts , for the future !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't lets us forget these truths , these convictions , these honors , these faiths , with Dignity Sir , with Respect to all the KEEPERS of the GREATEST country on EARTH , the Good ol USA , I would like to remember this song I grew up singing in Sunday School Sir , please enjoy this , as it makes me a pround memeber of this Country , like many of her stars and strips of her history do .

Newsweek’s Howard Fineman, in a new article entitled “Bush at the Tipping Point,” joined an expanding list of media representatives that have not only completely ignored statements made by Rep. John Murtha (D-Pennsylvania) concerning his disappointments with the Iraq war that came before his Thursday call for troop withdrawals, but also thoroughly misrepresented the level of support that Murtha gave to the initial war resolution back in October 2002:

“Murtha was the one-man tipping point. Initially a strong supporter of the conflict, he had voted for it and the money to pay for it. But on his last trip to Iraq, he had become convinced not only that the war was unwinnable, but that the continued American military presence was making matters far worse.”

As reported by NewsBusters here, Congressman Murtha first voiced dissent for this war in September 2003, and then again in May 2004. However, maybe most important, the record before the war resolution passed on October 11, 2002 shows Murtha as having initially been against invading Iraq, and only getting onboard when a revised resolution was proposed on October 2. Prior to those revisions authored by Democrats in the House to assuage dissenters like Murtha, the Congressman was quite vocal against an invasion:
